My Requirements

We are seeking a personal assistant for a lively and playful 10 year old in Stoke on Trent area. She has a diagnosis of autism and some communication needs but has made enormous progress in the last few years. The current emphasis is on meeting and socialising with other children in a variety of settings with the aim of incrementally reducing hands on support. The role may involve occasional support with personal care.
She is supported by her loving committed family and a small close team of allied health professionals.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is active, adventurous and enjoys the outdoors. There are also ample opportunities to access further specialist training and career development from the supporting team which comprises an occupational therapist, speech and language therapist and board certified behaviour analyst.
Driving license and own car is essential for this role, for travelling to activities with her.
Hours are currently Monday- Wednesday, 9-4, with some flexibility in start and finish times. Extra hours and weekends are available if desired.
Experience with SEN is desirable. However, flexibility, curiosity and a sense of fun and adventure are more important. Pay scale depending upon candidate's profile wearies between £10-£15 per hour
