Hi there, My name is Shakira, I'm 32 years old and an outgoing, fun hardworking Nanny and now Mummy to a beautiful baby Boy.
I bring great enthusiasm and a hands on, 'get stuck in' approach, ensuring children are happy, safe and supported through their developmental stages and milestones.
I love supporting children's individuality and independence through organised, educational and stimulating activities at home or on outdoor adventures/playgroups.
My Experience
- A BA Honours degree in Early Childhood Studies.
- Full time Nanny for two lovely children: one boy aged 3 and one girl aged 6 (started at boy aged 10months & girl 3).
- Experience working abroad - Live in position, caring for a 10month old girl.
-Full time Nanny caring for a lovely, curious and bubbly 1 year old girl in central London.
- Dance and Drama teacher. Having taught children aged 3-11 years old in a primary school setting.
- A Nursery Nurse and Teaching Assistant in private and state schools.
- I have a lot of experience maintaining a safe but yet fun environment for both children; supporting their personal development through engaging educational activities, outings and supporting the children with their homework. I maintain a routine suitable for the children and myself for pick up and drop offs to school, bathing, changing diapers, potty training and cooking healthy meals daily.
My Qualifications
2:1 in BA Honours degree in Early Childhood Studies - London Metropolitan University.
Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce.
National Diploma in Performing Arts.
My Availability
Available Part Time - 3 days a week.

Shakira has supported us with babysitting for about 5 years now, she started helping us when my son was about 2 years old and still helps us today, my son is now 7. She has also cat and home sit for us when we have been away!
Shakira is always very thoughtful about what activities she will do with my son, so he looks forward to her sitting! On cold winter evenings she will have something creative planned for them to do, from baking to colouring in together, to playing games, or if it’s earlier in day she will play with him outside. When he needs to do homework she will ensure that gets done also. Any mess they make she will always clean up! 😊
Shakira is very capable and trustworthy.

Shakira worked as our nanny for just under 2.5 years. At the time of joining our family, Sebastian was 11 months old and Florence was ~3.5 years old.
We were very pleased with her efforts during the period and valued her dearly.
She showed a high level of competence in managing both our children. She is very a responsible and independent individual with a lot of experience in childcare and teaching. Shakira also managed our childrens’ dietary issues efficiently and cooked some great healthy meals for the children. She is happy to work to a meals schedule or come up with a meal plan herself. One of Shakira’s best traits is that she has a lot of energy and has an amiable personality, which the children love, but above all she is very loyal and trustworthy.
More recently, she has been helpful with Florence’s homework, in terms of reading and the school projects and she has been proactive in arranging an array of activities for the children during the long school holidays! She is creative and thinks about fun activities for them. She also makes an effort to meet up with other nannies/school friends so Florence is entertained during the school holidays.
In conclusion, we were very happy with Shakira, but due to the fact our son is now going to the same school, as our daughter in September, we no longer need the same amount of hours.
We would highly recommend Shakira and will stay in touch with her over the coming years.
