Looking For Nurturing After-School Nanny & Family Assistant In N4
About Me
We are a structured and loving household looking for a reliable, empathic Nanny/Family Assistant to join our team. I am a busy professional and a single mother working from home. My two children (ages 8 and 11) are smart, capable, and thrive on their daily routine. We also have an older teenager who is highly independent.
Household dynamics & approach: We practice "warm but firm" parenting. Kindness and empathy are a priority for us, but we also enforce clear boundaries because they are essential for children to feel safe. Our children know their afternoon routine well and they just need an adult to gently but firmly oversee it. I am looking for someone incredibly kind and empathetic, but who has the confidence and professional experience to hold these boundaries without needing to call me in to intervene.
Working-from-home setup: Because I work from home and often have urgent deadlines, I need someone who is proactive and autonomous. When my office door is closed, I need to be "invisible." We also need flexibility in the schedule, especially during school holidays, which will be agreed in advance.
My Requirements
Hours: Flexible, to be mutually decided, but with a core window of roughly 3:00 PM to 8 PM. Must be available Tuesdays and Fridays.
Part time/Full time: Starting with approx. 20-25 hours/week and the possibilty of stepping it up to full time in September. This is a live-out position with ad-hoc overtime for special events and work commitments
Childcare Tasks: Managing the afternoon flow, picking up the children, walking them to local after-school activities (like Spanish), and supervising homework and instrument practice.
Household Management Tasks: Preparing healthy family dinners, keeping the main living areas and kids rooms tidy and a couple of laundry loads. Occasionally pitching in with light cleaning if our regular housekeeper is away.
Assistant Tasks: Running occasional local errands such as Post Office or getting something from the supermarket downstairs.
