About Me
My name is Leigh, I am Mum to an 12 Yr old daughter and adoptive Mum to 2 cats and a 6 yr old cockapoo dog called Lottie she is
extremely used to children and loves to play.
I am located between the Barbican and Old Street, particularly useful for parents who work in the City.
I’m a level 3 trained practitioner with an extensive knowledge of childcare gained through working in a children's centre for over 11 years and prior to that I was a Nanny.
I have a fun caring nature and love the job that I do.
I am a warm, approachable and caring person which helps the children in my care to thrive, to feel comfortable in their surroundings and with someone they can trust. I strive to ensure every child feels safe, secure and cared for. I do this by building a bond between your child and myself as well as with you the parents.
I love to encourage children to use their imagination going on outings, exploring messy play.
We will do various activities on a weekly basis, all will be age appropriate and to compliment the stage of each individual child, giving children opportunities for language and development.
I provide a warm, safe, friendly home environment with a family atomosphere in which children feel valued,can play, learn and develop.
In most cases, this will be your child's first introduction to learning and being away from their family, so by making learning fun, I hope that this will encourage years of happy learning for all children.
My Experience
I have been registered with Ofsted since June 2018, I have had a lot of experience with children under 5 I used to work in a children's centre for over 11 years with ages from 6 months to 5 year olds with a variety of children that had complex needs , behavioural problem's.
Before becoming a child-minder I was a room leader for 27 children of the age of 4-5 year olds. I have worked with babies and toddlers being a keyperson to at least 8 babies and toddlers. I have supported children with toilet training, transitioning to go to nursery, new sibling's as well as supporting the parents with advice on children's development stages.

Leigh is such a kind, happy, and patient person. I came from Vienna to London to work for a couple of days. She took care of my 4-year-old daughter as if she were her own and communicated with her perfectly even though they didn’t speak the same language. My daughter immediately fell in love with Leigh, her lovely daughter and her super cute dog.
Leigh had such a diverse activity schedule for my daughter, from indoor activities such as arts and crafts to outdoor activities that even included a trip to the zoo! And if that weren’t enough she even made little gifts to my daughter that she absolutely loved. When I picked her up she told me, “mama, can I come visit Leigh tomorrow again?”
I’m truly grateful to have had such a wonderful person taking care of my little one during these couple of days. It made me had the peace of mind I needed to focus on my job here.
I highly recommend Leigh!

I have been with Leigh for over a year now. My little boy started at Leigh's setting when he was only 10months old. She made him feel comfortable straight away and quickly learnt what his gestures meant. She was also very reassuring for the parents and never made me feel uncomfortable if I bombarded her with messages to see what they were up to or if he was okay. Whilst being at Leigh's setting he has recieved intensive care and it shows! He has learnt an incredible amount at 20months old he can sing the alphabet count to ten and that's only the beginning. As I have been so impressed I enrolled my oldest son (4years old) to her setting throughout the summer and now just for holidays, when he is not at school. Leigh quickly picked up on his speech and language problems and tailored special time to him to strengthen his mouth muscles whilst having fun! And discussed with me things I could do at home to help. I found this extremely helpful. Leigh and my children are always out for an adventure coming home with something theyve made. Choosing Leigh has honestly been the best decision I could have made for childcare. She treats all the children at her setting as if they are her own.
