About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder in Upminster. I live with my husband and 2 teenage daughters. We have 2 family dogs called Molly and Pippa who are both small, friendly cockapoos. I have a large garden equipped with a small climbing frame, water wall and mud kitchen. Indoor space is used for role play, small world play, construction, quiet time and mark making. As well as playing at home I attend various playgroups as well as visiting the local library and duck pond. We also regularly visit Barleylands farm, sealife centre at southend, softplay and various woodland. I have a large car with car seats.
My Experience
I worked for 5 years as a Pre School assistant at Springfield playgroup in Upminster and 18 months as a childminders assistant before registering to be a childminder. I have extensive knowledge of the EYFS, and can provide a welcoming, warm and safe environment. I have the facilities and resources to provide a stimulating environment and plenty of opertunities to learn through play.

Katy looked after my son until he went to school. He not only loved Katy but her whole family. They made him feel very welcome throughout his entire stay.
Katy’s house is always tidy and well organised. The theme/decoration of everyday’s play is always prepared before the children arrive. My son always went straight into her house to play after drop-off.
Katy organises various activities for the children through the week. Libraries, playgroups and softplay etc. My son never got bored. He always looked forward to going to Katy’s house.
Katy goes above and beyond looking after the little ones. A few times she came to our house to pick up my son when my husband and I were not well. She also drove us home when I had a flat tyre.
So I highly recommend Katy and would employ again in future.

As soon as I met Katy I knew my little boy would be in safe hands. Katy’s house was clean and tidy with outdoor space which was a must for my active son. Katy sent over photographs and kept a journal of my sons time with her which allowed me to have an insight into his day. My son loved going to ‘Katy’s House’ and even asked to go at the weekend! Katy also has a real connection with the children, coming to visit us when my little boy was ill! It made his day! I have no hesitation to recommend Katy!

Katy looked after my son from the age of 1 until He was nearly 3. The only reason we stopped was because I went on maternity leave.
Katy whole family make your child feel welcome, each day she has different activities set out which would encourage learning, my son learnt so much with his time spent with Katy. Each day she would complete a workbook which would detail everything they had done that day, down to what they had eaten etc Katy would accommodate sleep times and any other requirements. Photos through the day were nice too.
Katy would take the children out to the park etc to feed the ducks or explore, once my son started talking he would tell me what they had been up to and he always had so much fun.
When I’m ready to start work again I will be in contact.

Katy looked after my little boy from 9 months. She fully understood the struggle a parent goes through dropping off their child for the first time with someone who is ultimately a stranger. However, she made this process simple and as hassle free as possible. From the moment we walked through the door he was made to feel welcome and it was such a relief to know that my child was being looked after in a caring and homely environment. Her incredibly sweet children are a reflection of her wonderful parenting and this too is reflected in her work as a childminder.
Katy carefully prepared diverse activities to make the space an explorative environment, and he was always attracted to the new toys and activities that she had planned for the day. This provided him with enough challenge for his ever changing milestones. Katy works with families dependant on their needs. For us it was his fluctuating sleep patterns, developing his language or changes in his behaviour. Katy kept us fully informed through his early years diary, and a catch up at the end of the day. This was very different from what the busy local nurseries could offer.
Our little boy, thoroughly enjoyed his days out with Katy, and I felt reassured that he was safe and happy through her regular contact and photos updating us of their day. If I ever had to go back to work, I would definitely be contacting Katy. She is an incredible childminder who gives every child exceptional pastoral care, nurturing their personality and providing them with the security and boundaries that you would want for your child.

Katy looked after my daughter from 6 months’ old. Katy was great with her, she settled in very quickly and enjoyed going to katy’s each week. Katy’s home is very clean, child safe and friendly. The children are taken out for visits to different places e.g. the duck pond or local play centre etc. Katy updates and sends home a journal of what they had done that day, eaten, naps etc. and also sends me pictures thoughout the day! Which was lovely!
I would highly recommend Katy as a childminder!
