About Me

Dear family,

My name is Karen, I’m 35 years old originally from Ireland but recently moved to Nottingham from Surrey.

I am a paediatric physiotherapist in the local hospital with a great interest in childcare. I would love to find a family to babysit for on a regular basis, I am free after 6pm during the week and possibly earlier at weekends. I work Monday-Friday 8.30-5pm, additionally I do some weekends and some night shifts so I like to plan in advance. I cannot do school pick ups as I don’t drive.

I am a friendly, honest, trustworthy and caring person with a lot of energy and great passion for working with children. I enjoy teaching children through creative play in order to help them grow and develop.

My Experience

I have 18+ years experience in childcare. I have been babysitting since the age of 16 for families with up to 5 children. I have been a nanny twice in Italy and aupair 5 times in Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands (2 families) and Malta. I have had experience as both a live in and live out aupair and I have looked after children from newborns to 16years.

Furthermore, I have worked in a crèche looking after children from 6months to 3 years. I have worked with children through sport such as a football and badminton coach and have been volunteering at summer camps and working in orphanages in Belarus for children with disabilities since 2011.

In 2017 I spent 6 months working in Great Ormond street children’s hospital as a physiotherapy assistant while I waited to be registered as a physio and I now currently work as a paediatric physiotherapist where I work closely with children from pre-term to 18yrs old on a daily basis.

I can take care of children with special needs or medical needs if required.
