Part-Time After-School Nanny (Every Other Week) – St Albans City Centre – Scope to Expand

About the Role: We are looking for a caring, reliable, and proactive part-time nanny to help look after our two children (a 9-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy) every other week. This is an after-school role based in St Albans city centre, with exciting scope for the position to grow when we welcome our third child in February.

Hours, Schedule & Rate:

Start Date: ASAP (Immediate start available)

Schedule: Every alternating week (Monday to Friday)

Hours: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM (20 hours per working week)

Rate: Negotiable depending on experience (please state your expected hourly rate when applying)

Key Responsibilities:

School Pick-ups: Collecting the children from their local school. This is a walking distance pick-up, so driving or owning a car is not required.

Afternoon Engagement: Entertaining the children with fun activities, playtime, and helping them unwind after the school day.

Homework Support: Providing gentle encouragement and assistance with their evening homework.

Dinner Preparation: Cooking healthy, fresh evening meals for the children.

Future Scope: With a new baby arriving in February, we are ideally looking for someone interested in a long-term fit. There will be a strong opportunity to expand these hours and responsibilities significantly in the new year.

Requirements:

Previous childcare or nanny experience.

An enhanced DBS check and up-to-date Paediatric First Aid.

Note: OFSTED registration is not required for this role.

Brilliant nanny!

Sarah has been looking after our little girl (11 months old) for around 4 months now and she is simply wonderful! She is always on time and has been happy to cover extra days or on the occasion we’ve been late home. She organises activites, has taken her swimming, on play dates, to the park, messy play, baby sensory etc, they are always out having fun together! She prepares food and milk for her & when she’s been ill, made sure she had her antibiotics at the right time. Our baby has only just begun to speak, but has a little French already thanks to Sarah! Most importantly our daughter really loves her, she is always excited to see her in the morning :) We can’t reccomnend her highly enough, whoever she works for next will be lucky to have her!
