My Requirements

Wanted: Housekeeper / Nanny / Groom
Live-in position — Hertfordshire

We are a fun, happy, busy family looking for a country-loving person to join us and help look after our three boys (12, 10 and 7), our home, and our growing menagerie of animals — including horses.

You'll have your own two-bedroom cottage on site and become a true part of the family. If you only match two of the three roles above we would still like to hear from you.

About the Role
Hours: Monday – Friday, full days starting at 7.15am, with occasional bedtime cover, one night of babysitting per week, and occasional overnights and proxy parenting. Boys often board one night a week.
Charge: Mainly sole charge, with some shared care during school holidays.
Driving: The boys attend school full time 40 mins away, so daily school runs are an essential part of the role. You'll need to be a confident driver with a clean UK licence — a car is provided.

What We're Looking For
We want someone enthusiastic, energetic, organised, tidy, flexible, responsible and reliable — an upbeat third pair of hands helping to raise kind, caring children with good manners.
We believe children should be encouraged to make their own fun (with guidance!), so a love of the outdoors and a firm hand on screen time are both very welcome. You should be happy taking the boys on rides, walks and bike rides, and kicking a football about when required.
Our boys are loving and well-behaved (mostly!) and will give the right person plenty of fun, laughter and love in return.

Typical Responsibilities
Childcare
? Dropping off and collecting the boys from school
? All children's laundry; keeping bedrooms tidy, clothes organised, beds made
? Occasional supervision of homework, schoolwork and music practice
? Fun activities and play at home, plus outings during school holidays
? Feeding the boys during school holidays (they're generally fed at school during term time)
? Keeping communal areas and toys clean, tidy and organised

Housekeeping
? Taking responsibility for the general running of the home
? Running errands
? Supervising the cleaner
? Ironing and changing bed linen
? Organising the weekly food shop
? Preparing healthy, well-balanced family meals (you should enjoy cooking!)

Animals
? Daily feeding of chickens, guinea pigs, dog and stable cat
? Exercising the dog
? Exercising and caring for the horses; general yard duties. We currently keep a 12hh and 14hh pony, and potentially a horse, used for hunting and Pony Club.
? Preparing horses/ponies for hunting (exercise and turnout)
? Towing a trailer and, on occasion, handling three ponies and three children for Pony Club activities

Family Life
Dad is often in London during the week, and Mum works from home two to three days a week, so we need a reliable right-hand person who is happy to be flexible.

The Setting
We have a lovely home with a big garden, tennis court, small gym and swimming pool in Great Offley, a picturesque village in north-east Hertfordshire, just outside Hitchin.
