Whilst working for the Payakkamas family I was responsible for planning and arranging safe and fun learning opportunities for three boys aged 7 to 12 years old. It was also my responsibility to plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks. I quickly learnt that being a good nanny also means taking care of the home and pets too; I took great pride in cooking, cleaning and organising the house. This made life easier for the family, helping them to have quality time together as a family. Furthermore, I learnt the importance of setting boundaries with the children, but at the same time knowing how to have fun with them. In my experiences children pick up on the fact you enjoy them and their antics by listening to you better and responding more positively.
