At Baby Steps Childcare, we offer a warm, nurturing, and truly home-from-home environment where children can feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves. With over 10 years of experience in the childcare sector, I run this family-based setting alongside my mother,my assistant, who brings over 30 years of childminding expertise. Together, we are proud to offer a caring, family-run setting where close relationships with children and parents are at the heart of everything we do.
Each day is filled with a balance of child-led and adult-guided play and learning. We make the most of the world around us by regularly visiting local parks, farms, forest schools, stay and play sessions, and we hold memberships to local zoos and museums to enrich the children's experiences.
In addition to our home-from-home care, we also rent a non-domestic premises that is fully dedicated to the children in our care. This space is thoughtfully set up to inspire creativity, exploration, and independence, encouraging plenty of free play alongside structured activities tailored to each child’s needs and interests.
At Baby Steps Childcare, we believe childhood should be filled with discovery, laughter, and love,and we’re proud to provide just that.

My daughter has been with Sarah and mum for over a year and I am so so happy with the care and love they have shown.
I met Sarah and her mum at a stay and play and instantly knew they were the right fit for my daughter.
They are loving, caring, always updating me, and I believe that my daughter has come on so well due to their support. She is so happy to see them and she has her little extended family with them. I will be very sad when it’s time to leave.
I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Our daughter has been with Sarah three days a week since I went back to work 6 months ago and it was the best care decision we could have made. We interviewed a lot of people but upon meeting Sarah and her incredible mum, we knew we had finally found the right place. We wanted her to get the love and care she might not get at a big nursery and Sarah has not disappointed. Sarah is so knowledgeable about each stage of their development and has taught her (and us) so much. From very early on, we felt so comfortable with her and so did our little girl. We even bumped in to her on the weekend and our daughter was distraught that she was coming with us and not going home with Sarah!

We are so lucky to have found Sarah. She's an incredible child minder and all around human. She's been taking care of our little one since he was 6 months old and we can't recommend her enough. She's loving, caring and very knowledgeable. Always willing to help and to be flexible when needed. We are really grateful to be working with her.
