About Me
Specialist SEN Nanny / Autism Support Worker Required
Location: Wiltshire
Hours: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week (42 hours per week)
Start Date: As soon as possible
We are looking for a kind, patient and experienced Specialist Nanny / SEN Support Worker to support our wonderful 8-year-old son, who has autism and additional complex needs.
This is a long-term position for someone who is calm, compassionate and genuinely passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive.
The Role Includes:
- School collection and safe transport home.
- Providing one-to-one care and supervision.
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation and daily routines.
- Preparing and assisting with meals where required.
- Engaging in sensory play and age-appropriate activities.
- Personal care support if needed.
- Encouraging independence while maintaining a safe environment.
- Working closely with mum to ensure consistency of routines and care.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with autism and/or additional needs.
- Calm, patient, nurturing and reliable.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding.
- Full UK driving licence and own insured vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of ARFID.
- Experience supporting non-speaking or minimally speaking children.
- Understanding of sensory processing differences.
- Experience with visual schedules, speech and language strategies, PECS, Makaton or similar communication methods.
- Experience working alongside schools, therapists or healthcare professionals.
