About Me
Hi I am Alannah, I Live with my fiancé Chris and our two daughters 6 year old and a 9 year old. We have a cat, he tends to keep out the way.
I live next to a number of parks and nature walks where the children can have plenty of fresh air and exercise. I attend local toddler groups and meet with other childminders which the children can socialise and meet new friends which they might go into school with. I do lots of art and craft activities and sensory play. I hire out the sensory room at the Long Eaton children centre. We attend a forest school a couple times a month at the local allotment, and the local gymnastics centre.
I do not allow the T.V or any computers on as I believe the children learn best through play, which will be made not just educational but most of all FUN!

My working hours are 7am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday. I 'may' be flexible if you require care out of these hours.

There is no one apart from family I would trust to leave my child with more
She does alot a fabulous activities with the kids and encourages them on there own individual strengths.

Alannah was amazing from the start out my mind at ease as even in the middle of COVID still felt safe and confident she was amazing with my little girl and loved all the things she shared over the app she is connected to and when we unfortunately had to leave her due to moving the folder she had for us with the progress my little one made over the time with her was amazing I would highly recommend Alannah as a childminder

Thank you so much. It was an absolute pleasure caring for your little girl she was a little gem.
Alannah was very nice and helpful from the beginning and she always took the time to make my LO feel welcome, safe and happy. They did amazing artworks and learned a lot about nature. My daughter was always happy to attend for 5-6 months. Alannah made sure that her dietary requirements are met, i appreciate that a lot.
The setting is quite small and crowded, but my LO always enjoyed the plays, Alannah is very creative. This setting doesn't meet my cleanliness standards, mainly because of the pets (hair), but i believe there are other important things too which Alannah definitely met, so it makes up for that.
I gave 3 stars only because after 6 months my LO started to complain about feeling bullied by another child at the setting. I have asked Alannah to do something about it and she was very understanding. I am sure that she did her best to handle the situation, still the behaviour of the other child didn't change, but got worse, so i decided not to take my daughter to her setting again. I think she might have been overwhelmed after school pick ups having many childeren around. That might have been the reason that she couldn't pay so much attention to individual children as she wanted to and that she haven't noticed some behaviour that wasn't appropriate.

After being told I need to return back to work after furlough and not given much notice Alannah has been so flexible and helpful with me being able to come back to work.
My children love going to her they are so happy when they come home, they’re always outside playing and come back with different activities that they’ve been doing as she takes such an interest in what they like i.e. my son has fallen in love with ants recently and she’s printed off paperwork for him she even built them a ant farm I love the involvement she has with what they like.
The meals she provide sound so nutritious and my kids really enjoy them once again she’s taken in an interest of what they like and accommodated to that.
really can’t recommend her enough if your children go they will have a lot of fun.

Thank you very much. It was a pleasure, they have such wonderful characters and I really enjoyed there time with me!.
I would highly recommend Alannah if you need a Childminder, my two children were with her for almost two years and both had a great day every time they went. I particularly loved the pictures and videos of what my youngest would do in the day while the oldest was at school, which would cheer me up at work. They both loved all the trips out and activities they would do, there was never a problem at drop off even from the start, my then 1 year old wandered off to play without a backwards glance! It’s also a bonus both of my children had a friend their age to play with and get to go to school with! I definitely would recommend Alannah to any friends or family who are looking for childminders
