About Me

- Experienced Private Midwife
- Offers Live IN OR OUT, Maternity Nursing(24HOURS)
- Band 6 Midwife in NHS over 10 years
- Mother over 30 Years & now Grandmother
- Willing to travel within UK, Rural Locations Welcome
- Speaks BENGALI and a little ARABIC

I am a very experienced care giver, a mother to four and now grandmother.

I enjoyed my midwifery career as this gave me excellent skills in mothering mothers and
supporting them with breast or bottle feeding. Assisting them in the care of their newborns and giving them time to sleep or relax.

I am available for Postnatal and Antenatal Care and I offer support during pregnancy or birth as a Doula and Midwife.

I am Trained in Parent Education, Home birth, Water birth & Baby Massage

Qualified in 2016 as an Angelic Reiki Practitioner & Master Teacher; so mothers will get unique holistic care & treatments if needed

Home, Water & Active Birth Advocate.

Now my children are all adults, I have more time to offer.

I am very passionate about my work and enjoy teaching private antenatal classes.

I enjoy international travel, meeting clients and their families.

I enjoy writing poetry reading, I am chatty, but I also a fantastic listener.

I am a excellent house keeper, my greatest skills are Organising, Decluttering and Cooking meals from different countries, my specials are Bangladeshi Cooking.

I am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council & Royal College of Midwives.

I am also a member of the Association of Radical Midwives & I am a qualified 'BFN' Breastfeeding Network Supporter

I enjoy listening to women and supporting them to make informed choices about childbirth and breastfeeding which is much more rewarding than all the paper work in the NHS..

I enjoy getting to know my clients, listening and adapting to their needs.

Being a caseload or private midwife, I feel very priveleged, its a rewarding career and there is often a more positive outcome and experience for the parents with the continuity of a familiar carer.

Through CPD, Continuous professional Development; I update my skills regularly in first aid, resucitation, and safe guarding children & adults.

I have recently been studying mindfulness, meditation and how to have a calmer birth and baby.

Additionally I am often updating & adding to the wealth of modules regarding childcare & development, disabilities, mothers health, nutrition, health and hygiene to complement my working.

As a live in Maternity Nurse I can help with household chores or cooking etc. But my primary focus is on the mother and baby(s). Making her recovery from birthing comfortable and safe and helping her stay hydrated and eat healthy.

Also helping her establish a good routine tailored around the need of the parents. I aim to help babies develop and gain weight. Also assisting in babies sleeping routines and with mothers breastfeeding. If they choose to breasttfeed I can help this become established or if mothers wish to express or formula feed I will be there to support, help or give advice.

Primarily I am of assistance to create and facilitate a safe place for baby to grow and mothers to heal. Aiming for serenity & calm, I assist in helping mothers discuss fears or concerns around SIDS cot death etc, I am also able to be on call 24 hours if needed in early days when coming home from hospital.

Support from a maternity nurse can often reduce the likelyhood of postnatal depression. My passion is mothering the mothers so they can feel empowered and confident to do what they want to do... and being there to listen or advise if asked!

My Experience

2004- City University & St Bartholomews School of Nursing and Midwifery.
BSc(Hons) 2:1 , London

2004 to 2017- Royal London Hospital, Band 6 Midwife

In 2017 I resigned from my NHS role as a Band 6 Midwife to relocate back to the north, to care for my mother who had Cancer.

Before Midwifery, I worked in Holloway Prison for Birth Companions in the mother and baby unit Supporting women in custody and attending births. I enjoyed the diversity and challenge of this.

Volunteered and cared for the elderly as a befriender for Age Concern Charity.

Sure Start program National NEWPIN with women at risk of depression I found this very rewarding.

Most recent experience was a live in position for three months for a new mother & her newborn. This was very rewarding experience as I would care for the baby for 12 hours over night, 6 nights per week.

A very relaxed and cheerful lady. I feel confident leaving my baby in her care.

I'm glad to have accessed her services and not only do I have a qualified midwife for advice as I am currently pregnant again!!

I have a carer for my daughter and a friend.

I found her very educated and a natural at sending of my baby girl to sleep !
Thanks You Susannah

Very reliable and friendly lady. We were looking for a babysitter that we could depend on at short notice as well and Lisa also fits the bill.
Lisa is a bright and knowledgeable person and very easy to get on with. Would not hesitate to use her again.
