About Me

I am single, I am 40yrs old, I thoroughly enjoy working with children and have lots of experience having worked as a teacher assistant at primary schools & babysitting as well as worked as a nanny for several families this year on a regular basis. I currently do school run for 1 family a couple days each week, so I’m currently available at weekends for babysitting. I enjoy spending my spare time doing photography, and also enjoy walking my dog along the beach.
My current availability for childcare are afternoons from 1pm-6pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday’s, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturday’s, and Sunday’s. Work hours available at present are all pending on my schedule each week, as I do tend to do occasional school pickups on a Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays every other week, but I will of course do my best to work a schedule out that works for everyone.
Please message me anytime if you require any additional information or you wish to discuss your childcare needs.

My Experience

I’ve had lots of experience working as a Teacher Assistant at a primary School working alongside Year 2 and Year 3 classes (children ages 5-6yrs & 6-7yrs old). I am currently studying many different homestudy courses to enable me to become a qualified Teacher Assistant and also to have the experience and qualifications to work as a Part-time Nanny/Babysitter. I have lots of experience babysitting for families looking after children aged newborn - 12yrs old. I have also worked as a nanny to a 10 month old baby. I regularly look after my niece who is 2yrs old and my nephew who is 2 months old and I also help out with my cousins children & my neighbours children doing school run collection in afternoons when required.I do lots of babysitting for children aged as young as 3 weeks old to 15yrs old. I have SEN experience and have worked with children that have autism and Down’s Syndrome.

My Qualifications

I am currently studying Teacher Assistant course (home-study), Dyslexia Course, I’ve completed and passed First Aid Course (to include CPR for children & babies Course), and a childcare course. All courses are home-study based courses. I have just completed studying and successfully passed my Early Childhood Development course (certificates are available on request).

My Availability

My current availability for childcare is Monday to Friday from 1pm-6pm, and at weekends. I am not available any other day currently during weekdays, just because my schedule has become so busy.
Please contact me via email if you have any questions or you wish to discuss further with me about your childcare schedule, especially if you require childcare on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays as these days tend to be my free days whereby I am available.
This has been updated on 19th April 2024…

My usual babysitting fees are as follows:
*Fees babysitting weekends £14 per hour
*Fees babysitting weekdays £13 per hour
*Fees for nannying between £13 per hour, depending on hours of work and location.

I’m available mainly afternoons but can occasionally do earlier days pending on my schedule.
Please note that I do prefer to care for your child within your own home environment so not to stress your child/children, as children always thrive better and cope better with having a Nanny caring for them in their own home, where they are in their own safe and happy environment and have all their own toys and things they are familiar with.
Although I’m more than happy to have your child stay at my home, I truly believe it is so much easier for young children to stay in their home and be cared for within their own home and obviously I will take your child out for walks, outings, soft play, baby sensory classes, swimming lessons etc. With any nanny position I take on, I will of course ensure your child gets daily exercise whether that be taking your child to the park, taking your child to soft play or some other leisurely activity or swimming etc, I feel it’s important that when I have a child that I look after that I have at least 3 days each week, I like to take the child out to go swimming, or to the park or to baby/toddler playgroups (pending on age group), as it gives your child time away from their home environment to socialise with other children and to have fun.
We can discuss your hours of childcare etc. and work out a schedule that works for us all, please contact me to set up a meeting to discuss your childcare requirements further.
COVID-19 is still very much in our life’s for sometime yet, I am triple vaccinated (Pfizer vaccine booster done in November 2022?), and it’s very important that everyone I work with has been vaccinated or you have regular covid rapid tests to check you don’t have COVID-19, because I do work with children & families that have health issues and so Covid-19 would be very serious for some of the children I look after, hence why we need to work together to make sure we keep doing what we can to keep us all safe. Thank you.
Please note that I am also available to work weekends & evenings for babysitting, but I do charge more for doing weekend and weeknight babysitting (£14hr), weekdays evening babysitter I charge(£14hr).

Please note that I also charge petrol costs if you live more than 30 minutes from where I live BH22 area The cost for childcare if you live further afield will be £15.00hr if you live in Poole area or further afield..
I tend to frequently work in Ferndown, West Moors, St Ives Village and Ringwood areas at £13 per hour.
Please do contact me with any questions about this subject as I am wanting you to feel that you can contact me and ask any questions or concerns you may have. Ultimately your child/children are the most important and I will do all I can to ensure your child’s needs are met and that your child has lots of fun and is well cared for.

First time booking, had met a Helen in advance and agreed date of booking , backed up by text. On said evening, texted when 10 mins late, text was read and could see a logon to childcare website occurred at same time. Further text, call and message via childcare website unread and unanswered. Can understand if booking was forgotten, I should have double checked the day before but to not reply to me I think it pretty out of order. I could have got a friend to cover instead but I kept hanging on thinking she was on her way. Concert I had been waiting for for 18 months subsequently missed and out of pocket for the tickets.

Response by Avatar for Helen Helen on 21/10/2021:

I’m actually very sick I had Covid-19 and then got chest infection afterwards… I have written on my account confirmation to everyone stating that I am unable to work due to Covid-19 and then I updated my account (family members updated my account on my behalf), to state that I now have a severe chest infection for which I had paramedics attend my home yesterday to give me nebulisers and steroids. I was then seen by out of hours gp whereby I have been prescribed steroids (prednisone steroids) and amoxicillin antibiotics for my chest infection… I have never let anyone down in the 6yrs I’ve worked as a babysitter and nanny, and I always have been punctual on time etc. I cannot contact everyone that I am working for when I was struggling to breathe yesterday. I got my family members to log into my account yesterday to make sure my account was updated informing everyone I am sick and I won’t be available to return back to work until Saturday (again I would update and review this and make changes if I required further time off work).
I have been babysitting and working as a nanny for many years and have never had any negative feedback, so the fact that you never received this message on my profile isn’t my fault. I always update my profile account with any sudden changes to my work hours or if I’m off sick. I have so many families that I work for and have all been extremely happy with my babysitting service I provide to their children. Sickness suddenly occurs to us all, and I am self employed, I did the correct procedure in getting my family member to update my account profile to inform everyone I’m unavailable to work due to sudden sickness and chest infection. I’ve received zero negative reviews from anyone accept yourself, and the fact that I showed up a few weeks ago to meet with you clearly shows I am dedicated to my work, but I refuse to apologise for getting sick and I refuse to apologise to you because you have zero respect for people like myself whom are self employed and suddenly get extremely unwell with Covid-19 and then just 5 days later I got hit with a very severe chest infection, and due to my asthma and having only just recovered from Covid-19 my lungs are very weak and was why I got so very sick and required paramedics to attend to my home to give me emergency nebulisers and steroids to open up my airways and enable me to breathe again. My oxygen saturation levels were only 86% yesterday afternoon and so I was far too unwell and weak to contact you… I’m still very unwell today and I had my gp at my house today giving me more nebulisers.
So for anyone that is reading this I never let anyone down, I have always attended work when I can, even during lockdown I was working as a nanny looking after children. I am and can only do what my body enables me to physically do, and nobody knows when we will be suddenly taken very unwell.

To everyone that does know me on this website and has used me to babysit or work as their child’s nanny, they will vouch for me and agree that I am very good at my job and I take exceptional care of your children. I won’t be put down by a negative comment because I became very unwell requiring an ambulance at my home yesterday whereby the paramedics spent over 3hrs at my house trying to stabilise my breathing and do all they could so I could continue being treated at hone this prevent me from being admitted to hospital. Thank you.
