About Me
My name is Lorraine, I am 68 years young, I live in Fratton, Portsmouth with my husband, and we have three children, which two have flown the nest.
I have been a registered child minder for the last 19 years. I have a dedicated playroom which is equipped with all the toys and learning tools that are required for the children’s development. I have a secure and enclosed garden for out door play. I have a car which is used for the school run when the weather is bad and for outings. I believe that children should have choices and feel safe in a homely environment. This is actively encouraged in my setting.
My Experience
In the nineteen years of being registered, I have attained level 3 in Home Based Childcare.
I provide 9 months from September to 3year old funding .
For the last 10years Portsmouth City Council allocated me with the responsibility of planning and running a weekly Stay and Play groups Mondays and Tuesday's at the local family hub.
In my time of child minding I have been involved in the lives of 52 children with ages ranging from 2 weeks to 14 years of age. I have immensely enjoyed being part of their development and I take huge pride in seeing them grow and develop.

Paediatric First Aid
Level 2 in Food and Hygiene

Lorraine looked after our little boy from 9 months old to 2.5 years. She has been great with him as he struggled to adjust to not being at home - very patient and always communicative with us. She was always flexible with times and any need we expressed. Our boy became very attached and was very happy at her setting.
