My Experience
I have worked with six different families so far, caring for children ranging from 10 months to 12 years old. My most recent position was with a wonderful family in Putney, where I looked after their two lovely boys, now aged 2 and 5. I stayed with them for two years and became very close to the family—they were incredibly supportive and kind, and I will always be grateful for the relationship we built.
My daily responsibilities included:
Preparing breakfast for the boys
Helping the older child get ready and taking him to school
Engaging the younger child in activities such as reading, drawing, playing, and outdoor exploration
Organising educational and fun outings, including trips to parks, museums, and playdates
Preparing lunch for the younger child
Light housekeeping duties
Picking the older child up from school
Taking both children to the park and playing sports or active games with them
When both children were at school, I also handled household tasks, including:
General cleaning
Laundry and ironing
Preparing healthy after-school snacks
Assisting with homework (Maths and English)
Organising playdates or taking the children to after-school activities and clubs
Playing fun, educational games
Cooking dinner for the whole family
Preparing the children for bed and ensuring their school uniforms were clean and ready for the next day
I truly enjoyed being part of the family and caring for the children. Working with them has been a rewarding experience, and I value the strong bond we created.
