About Me
*Funded Vacancy aged up to 2 years* Hi, I'm Jane. I am an Ofsted registered childminder with over 30 years childminding experience. I offer good quality childcare in a calm and caring environment. I live in a terraced house in the Wibsey area of Bradford 6 very close to Wibsey Park, just off Beacon Road. As my setting is based so close to the park, it gives the children ample outdoor play space. I live alone now my 2 grown up children have flown the nest. I am a friendly, reliable and approachable person.
I am no longer offering schoolrun places.
Parents are more than welcome to view my excellent references and portfolios or speak to parents who have used my childcare services. Many of the children I have provided childcare for were here from being babies to starting primary or secondary school. Eg I have had 3 families in particular who have kept me very busy over the past 25 years, all had 3 children each who look upon me as a member of their family which is very rewarding.
I have a place for a child up to 2 years old who is eliglibe for 15 or 30 funded hours. My childcare setting is ideal for young children to gain confidence and have the attention they deserve in a smaller setting. Once the children are 3 years old I am happy for parents to choose to move their child to a larger setting eg a school nursery to prepare for the child's transition to school reception class.
I closely monitor children's progress which enables me to plan for the next steps of their development.
All faiths welcomed. I respect religious values eg dietary requirements.
latest arrival time is 9am (early starts available) so we are able to get and about in the local community. Eg children's sessions at Wibsey library, Reevy Hill Family Hub, outings to local parks and play areas etc.
*30 hours FREE funded hours*
Eligible families need to apply for a code online to give to the childcare provider of their choice. This is fairly straightforward and just needs to be reconfirmed every 3 months. ie if parents living with the child are still working the code can be reconfirmed.
If I have a place/availability before the funded place starts, parents are able to pay me directly.
*15 FREE funded hours for 2 year olds*
Eligible families need to apply online. I would then need to get permission from Bradford Council to offer a funded place.
The only downside of doing this well before the free hours can be used is that, if there is a change of parents circumstances eg change of household income, it may affect eligibility. For example if a family was eligible in April for a September start, I could be allowed to offer a place then have the funding refused later due to a change in the families circumstances/income.
If I have a place/availability before the free place starts, parents are able to pay me directly. 2 year old 15 funded hours places can be for some families on a low income eg between jobs. I would not want to give an impression that the funded place is fully secure if parents are paying me directly before the funded place starts.

*Fees £5 per hour. No fee increase while child with me, giving parents piece of mind that they can budget during the current cost of living crisis*

My Fees

£5 per hour includes snacks and lunch.
NO HIDDEN EXTRA CHARGES eg outings, registration fees, settling-in session or meals/snacks.
No fees payable for my holidays.
For term time only children NO FEES are payable in school holidays.
Unfortunately I am unable to accommodate shift patterns ie different days each week
All fees are payable monthly in advance . Fees are only for the month ahead which is clearer for parents to see exactly what they are paying for rather than adding up the total of weeks a year and dividing by months eg 39 weeks ÷ 12 months, which can lead to overpayments when a child moves on.
Sloppy payers are not welcomed as I prefer not to have to regularly ask for fees to be paid as I already spend a lot of my free time on the more enjoyable task of organising fun learning activities for the children.

This childminder has not yet informed us whether or not they provide any drop off or pick up services at local schools.

I’ve recently been in touch with Jane while looking for childcare for my little one, and she has been nothing but warm, kind and incredibly professional. She took the time to explain everything clearly and was so thoughtful and understanding about our situation. Even though we couldn’t take up a place with her, I came away with such a positive impression of her experience, honesty and genuine care. Any family who joins her setting will be very lucky.

I was wanting to pay private until my sons funding starts in September. messages said yes you can do this no problem which i no I can as worked in childcare my self ! And now excuse is she needs permission for funding from the council even though I have said I’m paying private ! And had a nerve to say I think you'd struggle with me having 4 other children ! How dare you. You no nothing about my life and finances was just an excuse for some reason ! Absloutly gob smacked,hurt and pretty damn insulted !

Jane has cared for my daughter since she was 1 year old after I took my daughter out of nursery, i found the nursery setting to overwhelming and the care for a baby was just not what I expected, Jane has been amazing with my daughter learning and keeping her up to date with all numbers letters colours e.t.c I work full time and have an older daughter who use to hate going to nursery to the point she’d cry leaving me feeling like the worst parent, Jane has welcomed my daughter Into her home and created a happy place that my daughter absolutely loves going to, i have never had tears not once. I also found Jane made everything like getting rid of dummy coming out of nappy’s so much easier for me. I can not thank Jane enough for the care she gives and continues to give my daughter, one mummy who is forever grateful and goes to work knowing her daughter is in the best hands 🥰

My daughter was cared for by Jane for two years before starting pre school. Jane is an excellent childminder, friendly, helpful and patient. My daughter really enjoyed her time with Jane. They spent days playing, doing arts and crafts, baking, teaching letters, numbers, and how to write her own name amongst lots of other things. She progressed very well in Jane's care.
I can highly recommend jane to offer your child a safe and fun environment.

Thank you so much for your review Gemma. It was a nice surprise and very much appreciated.
Sophia came to me as a shy little girl. Over her 2 years here she gained confidence and was always eager to learn new things which helped her settle and make a flying start at school nursery.
Sophia is a kind, caring and loving little girl. We all miss her very much xx 😁
Both my children attend Jane's. Ethan is now 5 and has been going since he was 2 and now goes before and after school, and my daughter Edith now 3 has been going since she was two. Both my children adore Jane and Edith often comes home singing the songs Jane has sung with her and telling me what she's done :D I have their pictures and paintings on my wall :D
Jane has really helped with the development of my children and I genuinely cannot fault her care. She sends me pictures of Edith and what they're up to which is so nice seeing how happy Edith is with her. I feel Jane is more than just our child minder, she's been an amazing support with the children (and me) when I've needed her. Jane goes above and beyond her role and I will always recommend her. Her home is lovely and welcoming and the selection of toys/books she has is brilliant. Jane is friendly and kind and will be sensitive to your needs. Jane is amazing at what she does :) xx
