About Me

We are a warm, welcoming, and family-oriented household looking for a dependable and enthusiastic nanny/support worker to help care for our 9-year-old son, Jack. Jack has dyskinetic cerebral palsy and epilepsy and uses a wheelchair full time. He is non-verbal, but full of personality and is a happy, friendly boy. He is learning to use eye gaze technology to communicate and loves being active, especially going on swings, cycling on his adapted trike, and swimming.

This is a deeply rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference to a child’s life and wants to be part of a supportive, close-knit family.

Responsibilities

Supporting Jack with daily care routines, including personal care (nappies and showering)
Engaging Jack in fun, meaningful activities (e.g., park trips, swimming, sensory play)
Preparing and cooking simple, healthy meals for the children
Using physiotherapy and speech therapy plans in day-to-day activities
Attending appointments with Jack as required
Supporting family routines and happy to travel occasionally with the family
Assisting with day trips and outings
Working as part of a wider family team (a 4-year-old sibling and friendly dogs are also in the home)

Essential Requirements

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Full, clean UK driving licence and own car
Willingness and ability to travel with the family on occasion
Right to work in the UK
