About Me
Qualifying with a PGCE from Leeds University in 2009, I am an experienced Primary School Teacher with a passion for building children's confidence and helping them to achieve their full potential. Children make the most progress when they are confident and happy in their learning, my main aim during my sessions is to create an environment where children can make mistakes, ask questions and build on their existing skills and knowledge. My lessons are varied and interactive and I strive to make learning as fun as possible.
I teach online, and in my six years of experience, I’ve found that it can work just as well—and sometimes even better—than face-to-face lessons, as long as it suits your child.
My Experience
My experience in schools ranges from teaching Nursery right through to Year 6 as well as running intervention and SATs booster groups. I have taught children with social and emotional issues, children on the autistic spectrum as well as children with various other learning difficulties. The best thing, I think, about tutoring is that you can really focus on the individual needs of the child and tailor the lesson perfectly to suit them.
My Qualifications
As well as qualified teacher status I have a BSc (Hons) in Natural Sciences from the University of Durham. I hold 4 A Levels in Chemistry (A), Geography (A), Biology (B) and Art (A).
My Availability
I am currently available during the day and evening Monday- Friday, I also have a few available slots on a Saturday.
