Hello!
I’m Alex! I'm a passionate and engaging online tutor offering lessons for all ages! Two years ago I graduated with a BSc in Engineering, and in the last few years I’ve helped 15 students (250+ hours) gain more confidence in Mathematics. I have taught KS1-A-Level.
When working with a new student, I first like to assess the student's level and work with them to find out what they're struggling with. I'm happy to plan lessons to best suit the student's need. However, I like to focus on past paper questions and I believe in teaching the fundamental underlying concepts and not “tricks” just to get questions correct. I currently offer online tutoring using virtual whiteboard software to provide effective and engaging sessions for all levels.
** Hourly Rate: £25/hr (1st session is half price) **

My Experience
In the past, I’ve worked with 7 year olds learning the fundamentals of arithmetic, helped a 10 year old prepare for his daunting 11+ exams, and supported a GCSE student who dropped out of school regain his confidence and jump 3 grades in 5 months. I've also worked at a reputable children's summer camp for over 5 years and absolutely love working with children.
My Qualifications
My Bachelors is from Northwestern University, a top 25 globally ranked university. Before that, I went to Hampton School where I did Maths, Physics, Design & Technology, and Further Maths at A-level (A*A*A*A). I also received 10.5 GCSEs (A*-A). I represented my school in maths competitions and was the 61st ranked student in the country in the UK Maths Challenge.
