Hello!
I am an experienced nanny (particularly for before and after-school childcare) and currently a teaching assistant at a secondary school in Bristol. I am training to be a secondary Art and Design teacher (I start my PGCE in September) and have volunteered as an art teaching assistant prior to this in two further secondary schools in Wiltshire. I am looking for part-time nanny work and/or babysitting to supplement my full time hours as a teaching assistant.
I live in Horfield in Bristol, and though I can not drive, I am very happy to cycle or get the bus to where is needed - I know the surrounding area/Bristol well! I'm very friendly, chatty and fun - I love children and feel my attentive, down to earth and warm nature allows me to act as a great nanny for worried parents. I’m very easy to talk to, and am very sensitive of parent’s differing needs/requirements for their children. Every family is different in how they work, and as a nanny it’s very important to respect that and work with this.
I am able to look after all sorts of ages - from toddlers to teenagers, and am professional with what is required of me from my job, but am also easy-going lots of fun. I really enjoy forming genuine, special relationships with the children I look after and feel this is a really important factor when working with kids. I’m also very active/sporty and and love being outdoors, so energetic kids are no problem for me. As a trainee art teacher, I obviously also love everything creative so making up some arts and crafts activities for children is something I really enjoy doing!
I finish work at the school 8am - 4pm Monday to Thursday, and finish at 3pm on Friday, so am available to help out around these hours including evenings/babysitting if needed! I can also help out more in the school holidays/ do full days etc.

My Experience
I am an experienced before and after-school nanny. Most recently I provided after-school care for 2 adorable girls ages 4 and 7 based in Brockley and mentioned in the previous section I am a current teaching assistant at a secondary school in Bristol.
Responsibilities included: Picking up the two girls from their separate schools (one from their nursery, the other from their primary school), walking them home, and creating an activity for the afternoon (perhaps baking, drawing/painting/arts and crafts, making dens in their bedroom, playing in the garden), then cooking dinner for them. I also helped with any homework, (including preparing for spelling and maths tests!). I am very comfortable cooking for children and adapting meals to meet their dietary needs. I love cooking so this is no problem for me! I also looked after two other children from the same school on a Wednesday and looked after all 4 of them on this day. I picked up more hours over school holidays and took the children on outings to the local park, and museums, etc.

I am also an experienced babysitter, and have stayed overnight to look after the children I regularly babysat for, and been responsible for taking them on outings into town/the city as well as play with, wash and cook for them. I am quite imaginative with things we can do, which has resulted in alot of fun outings out and about!
My Qualifications
2:1 in Media and Communications at Sussex University with a Year abroad at Uppsala University
Undertaking a PGCE in Art and Design at UWE University in September 2023
