About Me

I am a qualified primary school teacher with over 20 years of experience. I have recently decided to take a break from the classroom and am moving my career in a slightly different direction by taking a postgraduate qualification (Masters) to become a dyslexia specialist/assessor. To support myself while I study, I am working part-time work as a nanny. I really enjoy building a nurturing relationship with children, and helping them to flourish socially and emotionally, and there often isn't enough time to do this in a busy classroom environment! I have a degree in Psychology and an interest in counselling and child development. I am married, and mother to a fantastic 18 year old boy. I am practical and organised - I think I have been confronted with pretty much every child related issue over the past 20 years and usually found a solution!
I am also available for nanny/housekeeper roles.
I am looking for part time work, 1.5/2 days per week (14-20 hours approx). I have some flexibility. My MA taught element is on a Wednesday afternoon, so I would need to keep this free.
