About Me
Hi! I’m Roshni, thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile. I’m looking for work outside of my MA English and Creative Writing course at the University of Dundee.
I spent 2 years working in London as a full time live in nanny for 4 kids (newborn - 9 years) and the experience taught me so much about how wonderful, funny, inquisitive, and sweet children can be (obviously they can also make you want to tear your hair out but that's not generally the thing that sticks). Having the opportunity to help your child/children develop and grow would be such a gift because I would know that I have hopefully made a difference in their life, and that’s what I really care about. I have also worked as a babysitter for many families, big and small for babies to preteens, and it’s always great to meet new kids and read new bedtime stories!
I also spent time as an intern teaching drama to girls from 3-15 to help increase confidence post lockdown with fun games that can easily find a place in your home- although your kids might gain a flair for the dramatic, apologies.
My Experience
I volunteered for Rainbows (Girlguiding for ages 4-7) between 2016 and 2018, babysat for multiple families around London and in Dumfries and Galloway, and nannied full time for a family with 4 children, aged between new born and 9 years. I was present for the duration of my boss' pregnancy and therefore from the second that their youngest child was born until August of 2020.
One of my younger cousins has severe special needs and I have had experience looking after her whilst her parents were away for a week in January 2020, as well as spending the odd day taking care of her.
Tutoring experience in the classroom for drama ages 11-15 as well as externally for exam prep, primary level English tutoring and National 5 and Higher tutoring.
I have also interned teaching ages 3-15 in drama in an extracurricular dance class, leading the classes and putting together lesson plans.
