My Summary
About Me
Hi, my name is Ellen. I am 27 years old and live between Oxford and Farnham.
My Experience
I am a calm, creative and active young woman am am very excited to join a lovely family as their part-time nanny. I have a strong background working with children and young people from babies through to teenagers. Alongside my professional nannying experience, I have worked extensively in schools, theatres, youth organisations and community settings, where I have supported children’s wellbeing, development and confidence through creative, educational and play-based activities. I particularly enjoy creating a warm, engaging environment where children feel happy, secure and encouraged to be themselves.
My nannying experience includes caring for twins from just three months old alongside their two-year-old sibling, as well as working part-time with a family with a five-month-old baby and as an after-school nanny for children aged five and eight. I am comfortable caring for babies and young children and understand the importance of establishing routines around sleep, feeding, play and development, while remaining responsive to each child’s individual needs. I am happy to get stuck into all aspects of family life, from preparing meals and organising activities to school runs, outings, bath and bedtime routines and keeping children’s spaces tidy and organised. I am calm, patient and attentive, and I place a great deal of importance on children feeling listened to, respected and supported.
Outside of my nannying work, I've worked at Garsington Opera, The Story Museum (Oxford) and Chichester Festival Theatre & Monkey Music coordinating and leading learning and creative workshops and projects with children and young people. At Chichester Festival Theatre I project managed multiple Early Years projects for vulnerable young families and am passionate about supporting young people and their families and facilitating high quality experiences and care. These roles have made me confident in planning age-appropriate activities and finding creative ways to keep children engaged — whether that means getting outside, making something, reading stories, singing and making music, imaginative play or simply following their interests.
I am a responsible, organised and conscientious person who understands the trust involved in working within a family home. My roles have involved significant responsibility for safeguarding, risk assessments, communication with parents and the wellbeing of children and young people, and I am comfortable managing the practical and sometimes unpredictable aspects of childcare. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and would love to find a family where I can become a trusted and reliable part of their lives, providing nurturing care while helping them learn, explore and have fun.
I am very happy taking on a mothers help role, sole care nanny or nanny/housekeeper role. I have a car and a DBS certificate on the update service.
