About Me
We are a warm and friendly family based in the N9 / Edmonton area. We have two daughters, aged 8 and almost 5. Our younger daughter is autistic and currently non-verbal/pre-verbal. She is a lovely, active and affectionate child who enjoys movement, sensory play, music, outdoor play and simple routines.
We are looking for someone kind, calm, patient and reliable, ideally with experience of autism/SEND, to support her after school at home. We would provide guidance and are happy to work together with the right person to build a simple, consistent routine.
My Requirements
We are looking for after-school support for our almost 5-year-old daughter, ideally 1–2 afternoons per week from around 4pm, for approximately 30–60 minutes (flexible which days).
She is autistic and non-verbal/pre-verbal, so we need someone with SEND experience, ideally autism experience, who is calm, safety-aware and comfortable supporting a child with communication and sensory needs.
The role would involve simple home-based activities such as sensory play, movement/heavy-work activities, communication through choices/gestures, snack routine, calm transitions and possibly supporting toileting or personal care routines. We are not looking for formal therapy, but we would like someone who is comfortable following parent-guided OT/sensory-informed activities.
Experience as a SEN TA, support worker, nursery/primary school staff member, psychology/education/OT/SALT student, or similar would be very welcome. Enhanced DBS and references preferred.
