Alidia
Nanny in Grappenhall (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I have graduated from Norland College with a 1st class degree. I thrive when looking after babies and toddlers and really enjoy being a nanny. I have recently left a position in Oxfordshire due to my charge settling beautifully into her pre school provision, therefore I am looking for a full time position in the South Manchester area.
My undergraduate research has been published in ECSDNs early years journal, my research focused on the benefits of involving children in cookery activities in the home. I was able to present this at Norlands research conference.
I particularly enjoy arts and crafts, especially painting and pottery. I am currently a member of a local pottery studio which means I am very good at playdough!
My Experience
My college course required me to do 2 days a week in a childcare setting and complete 750 hours over the two years in a Pre-School, Primary School in Year 1 and within a day nursery in the baby rooms. I have also volunteered at rainbows in Grappenhall and at Playability (A charity that runs a holiday play scheme for disabled children) where I also completed a paediatric first aid course.
I have worked as a nanny in my gap year (and through lockdown) with two boys aged 8m and 8 years (up to 21m and 9 years when I left). I looked after the baby through the day and went to various groups and activities and picked b8 up from school. Through lockdown I supported homeschooling, planning educational activities to stretch the eldests skills and learning new math concepts, along with large scale projects such as building a football stadium and team.
During my training at norland I have completed a placement in a baby room (4 weeks), within a private school kindergarten class (6 weeks), family placement g18m and b3 (4 weeks), family placement b15m, b3, b6 (4 weeks), family placement b6w, g2 (4 weeks) family placement b15m, g15m, g15m g4 (6 weeks), family placement b11m and g2 (4 weeks), family placement b6m, g3y, g5y, and I have also completed a newborn placement with g12 days+ and have done babysitting for many families in the evenings and weekends.
During term time I had a regular family that I worked for with g7 and g9, I have done school pickups, proxy parenting for weekends at a time and regular babysits.
My Newly Qualified Norlander job started when the little girl was 11 months old, and I have worked for the family for 2 years. With this family I have worked full time going to groups, classes, parks, meal planning and cooking, liaising with grandparents, parents and arranging play dates along with supporting individual needs, transitions and aspects such as potty training.
My Qualifications
1st class degree from Norland College and Norland Diploma with excellent grades.
I achieved 2 distinction*’s and 1 distinction for my L3 in Children's Play, Learning and Development (Early years educator). I also have a first aid certificate and I achieved good GCSE's.
I am also ofsted registered, and can accept tax free childcare.
