About Me
I'm a very experienced Daily Nanny. I have up to date First Aid and Safeguarding certificates and am DBS checked. I have 30+ years of experience, caring for children ranging in age from birth to 17 years, working as a Nanny, Childminder, Early Childhood Educator and Nursery Officer.
I'm happily married and Mum to a lovely 16 year old boy who’s due to attend college in September.
I feel I have a very warm and caring manner along with being fun and enthusiastic, trustworthy and honest.
I try to provide the children in my care with great play and learning experiences, including arts and crafts, cooking, reading, games and puzzles, outdoor play and much more. I also attend local playgroups, libraries, farms and parks, along with having some fun day trips and outings.
I consider myself to have strong communication skills, always letting parents know about the child/children's day through digital diaries and photos along with chatting throughout the day.
I feel that being a parent myself enables me to be more understanding of children's daily needs and makes me more in-tune to their emotions. It also means I can relate to and am sensitive towards the day to day concerns that parents face.
My Experience
As a Childminder I have cared for children ranging in age from 10 months to 6 years alongside the care of my own child.
As a Nanny I have care for children ranging in age from birth to 17 years. I have been employed both here in the U.K. and on an International Level, working in Canada, Bahamas and Hong Kong.
I was also an Early Childhood Educator whilst living in Canada and worked as a Supply Teacher in schools before being employed by the YMCA Family Development Centre to be their Preschool Room Leader.
In the few months before having my son I was a Nursery Officer at the UCL Day Nursery.
My Qualifications
I hold a Canadian Diploma as an 'Early Childhood Educator' which is equivalent to 'BTEC National Standard' and the 'Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education'.
I have a valid First Aid Certificate and have various Childminding courses including, 'Safeguarding' and 'Food Hygiene'.
Other certificates include 'Creative Writing', 'Kids Have Stress Too' and 'Resiliency Training'.
My Availability
I’m available for up to 4 days a week (although I'm prepared to be flexible when extra care is needed or in cases of an emergency).
