About Me
TERM TIME only care. Hi my name is Kate I am an OFSTED registered childminder rated 'OUTSTANDING' living in East Hunsbury. I have been childminding for 12 years and live with my husband and 4 children aged 17-26. I hold all the relevant certificates eg, DBS, first aid, Child protection and hold a top level 5 in food hygiene. My opening hours are 7.30am - 5.00pm, Monday-Friday, term time only.
I have a designated playroom with a variety of toys and resources for all ages and a spacious garden suitable for all weathers. We love to spend time at local parks searching for wildlife, having a picnic under a tree, feeding the ducks or playing with balls and frisbees. We also attend play groups and soft play which enables children to mix with other children and make friends. We have seasonal topics and do activities around these topics eg, messy or exploratory trays and baskets, crafts, painting, play dough, water play, story baskets, singing and dancing and kids yoga. These activities provide children with new, fun experiences and a chance to make friends and learn valuable social skills in preparation for preschool and school.
I follow the EYFS guidelines and work with parents to ensure their child is thriving. I keep a development journal for each child which includes a photo scrap book showing parents the exciting things we do and how the their child is progressing. I regularly share with parents their child’s progress and the areas we are working on to ensure they’re growth.
My Experience
I have been childminding for 12 years and so have cared for many children of different ages over the years.
I have been lucky enough to have children join my setting as babies and been able to watch them grow and develop into confident children starting school.
My Qualifications
I have completed training in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Child Protection, FGM, Prevent, Data Protection, Equality and Diversity, Domestic Violence, Child Sexual Exploitation and recording childrens learning.
My Availability
I have vacancies for children from birth. I can offer care Monday to Friday, term time only.
My opening hours are 7.30am - 5.00pm.
I am not able to offer drop offs or collections from school.

I first started talking to Kate on here in April 2018 before my daughter was even born. Kate was helpful even before she was our childminder. When my daughter arrived and we had met with Kate (and others who did not meet our expectations after meeting Kate) we booked our place with Kate and she started with her in Feb 2019.
I can honestly say that Kate’s provision is brilliant and beyond compare. Everything from the daily emails to the learning journals, from her attentiveness towards our daughter and the home from home setting she creates. Her communication is second to none, the purpose built nature of the setting allows the children in Kate’s care thrive. The variety of activities undertaken allows the children to thrive and develop skills on the EYFS curriculum in a fun, play centred way.
From day 1 we have loved Kate and my daughter who is starting school in September loves her too. We are so glad we met Kate and we’re able to work with her (and get to know her and her family).
We would 150% recommend her to anyone!

Kate has been looking after my 15month old daughter for the last 3 months and I can't recommend her enough. As a first time mummy I had been dreading the day I had to go back to work and leave Molly but Kate made it a very easy transition - for me and for my little girl!
Kate and Molly go to go groups several times a week so she gets the best of both worlds, socialising with other toddlers and also one on one time with Kate - something that a nursery couldn't offer. I've seen Molly's development come along leaps and bounds in the last few months and my little girl always has a smile on her face when we pull up outside Kate's house. :)
