About Me
Hi, I am Donna and my business is Hungry Little Caterpillars. I live in North Berwick with my husband David, my son Aidan attends university in Edinburgh and my daughter Darcy is 9. We have a dog Mac and a cat Pip. I finished working as a Registered Sick Children’s Nurse within the Health Visiting teams 2 years ago and I am now looking forward to offering a specialised care service within my own home for children as young as newborn. I have a great enclosed back garden with a mud kitchen, ground level trampoline, large wooden playhouse(with veluxes no less), gardening area and lots of outdoor toys. I live very close to the Lodge and the Law and intend to make lots of use of the outdoor opportunities. I am keen to offer a family-centred approach to caring for your child in a home away from home setting. I aim to offer a healthy eating environment for all children and I will support families with fussy eating, sleep, behaviour, toilet training and any other skills I can offer (listed below).

I RECEIVED GRADE 6 - EXCELLENT AT MY ANNUAL INSPECTION IN JANUARY 2020.
I have an amazing assistant Sarah who works with me, she has an HNC in early years and childcare and years of experience as a nanny, childminder and nursery worker.
I can also offer a home, bath, bed service for children in my care, so if you have a night out after work I can take your child home, bath them and have them ready in bed for you getting home (MUST BE PRE-BOOKED/Additional fees apply)
Maternity and neonatal nursing days available on request to help parents through the early days.

My Experience
I was a Registered Sick Children’s Nurse with over 20 years experience. I worked in Edinburgh RHSC for over 10 years before working for the School Nurse Team. I have worked as a Community Staff Nurse within the Health Visiting Teams for the last 12 years which has given me a wide range of experience and training in the following. I have a particular interest in healthy eating and helping with fussy eaters, I can also give sleep advice and assist with behaviour issues and toilet training. I am :-

My Availability
I offer part-time places for children from birth up to 10 years old. I also offer school holiday cover. My normal working day is 0800-1800 but happy to discuss other needs. I offer pre-bookable home, bath to bed service. I can also offer one off maternity days *subject to availability.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
My fees are £7.50 per hour for childcare in my own home and other service charges are available on request. I am a specialised childcare setting offering a support and advice service as well as essential day care. My fees reflect the service offered and my years of experience working with children.
