About Me
I have been in childcare for just about 15 years now, working with a range of families with children from birth to 12 years old.
I thoroughly enjoy spending time with children of all ages, helping them to grow into the interesting individuals that they all are, as well as supporting their families in every day life.
In my spare time I love spending time with my family who live close by and with friends in family gatherings, dog walks (I have two small dogs) and I also enjoy arts and crafts (both with children and at home!).
My Experience
After finishing college gaining my level 3 certificate, I spent almost two years in America as an au pair extraordinaire (childcare quified au pair). Then once I returned home worked in a nursery in both the baby room and the room for 2 to 3 year olds.
The last 10+ years though have been in nannying, including my current position which I have been in for over 2 years now (3 children between the ages of 2.5 years and 12years).
My duties thoughout my nanny career have included
- Providing stimulation and age appropriate activities both in and out of the home, getting out in the world around us.
- Taking children to/from school and nursery
- Helping with homework/reading
- Providing and preparing health snacks and meals
- Bathing and toilet training
- Washing/ironing of childrens clothes.

We moved to Rutland two years ago, an unfamiliar area without family or friends close by. As both of us work, finding a reliable and trustworthy nanny that the kids liked and trusted was essential, but seemingly impossible. Then we met Clare.
Clare has worked with for six months. Always on time, dressed appropriately, full of positive energy and influence as well as a balanced, structured day plan for both children that she always communicates ahead of time. She has seamlessly fit into our family lives as though she’s been here all along. We wish she had.
Her kind natured approach has been central to our two children feeling safe and happy. For our daughter in particular, this had previously been challenging with feelings of nervousness around new faces and a reluctance to bond with our previous nannies. With Clare, our daughter’s face lights up with excitement at the prospect of another day spent with her and Clare’s influence on our daughter’s development - confidence, manners, and vocabulary – has been immeasurable.
Clare’s extensive knowledge of the region means our two children have had a wonderful experience attending local groups and classes as well as exploring the big outdoors with its various playgrounds and parks. Clare’s network also allows for our two little ones to mix with children of similar ages and make new friends, adding to the wonderful experience under her care. Play time at home is no less exciting and imaginative with Clare’s array of toys, books and arts and crafts keeping our two entertained as well as developing their early learnings.
Clare is calm and measured and she is diligent with any accident care, injuries or giving medication that the children may require. She’s great with pets and even goes above and beyond helping around the house as an extra pair of hands. A reliable driver, a fantastic sleep trainer with flexibility to offer overnight care if required.
Our family – and especially our two children – will miss Clare hugely and we cannot recommend her highly enough. We are relocating, otherwise we would hope to continue our partnership with Clare for many years to come.
