About Me
My name is Grace and I am a trustworthy, responsible and caring individual with years of experience as an after school/evening babysitter. I’m 23 years old and I’m currently studying Paramedic Science.
I appreciate that as a parent it’s really important to feel as though your child/children are safe and well looked after, and so that’s always my top priority. However - I think being approachable, kind and fun are vital traits to have in order to create a good bond.
My Experience
I've been looking after the children of parents for quite a few years now. I grew up in a small town and was a trusted babysitter for teachers in the local school as well as our local minister! I also have experience working in a primary school setting, where I would volunteer regularly to help with general classroom tasks, as well as basic numeracy and literacy skills. This also gave me experience working with ASD. Occasionally I got to go on some pretty cool school trips too.
I am a member of the PVG scheme as I have experience working in care homes for the elderly, those living with dementia and adults with learning disabilities. This has equipped me with skills such as ‘moving and handling’, personal care and good communication where it is often difficult. So if your child required more complex care, this is something I could definitely help out with.
My Qualifications
5 National 5s, 5 Highers, Certificate of Higher Education in English Studies - as well as training in dementia, learning disabilities, ASD, suicide awareness and self harm, catheter care, incontinence and medication administration. Currently a student paramedic.
