Part Time Nanny Job in Barnsbury
About Me
I'm looking for an after school nanny to pick up my two children (boy and girl ages 8 and 7) from their school bus stop or school. I am a single parent and manage most of the childcare myself so would ideally like someone who can also stay late occasionally and help with additional hours during school holidays.
My Requirements
We're a family based in Islington, N1, looking for an after-school nanny for our two children, aged 7 and 8.
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 4:45pm–7pm (term-time), plus school holiday availability
Rate: £20/hour
Start date: 1st September, with the option of some full days over the summer holidays beforehand for the right person
The role:
Most days, pick-up is from the bus stop in N1 with a 10-minute walk back home. 1–2 days a week (depending on clubs), it's from school in Highgate instead, taking the bus back to Islington together. Once home: homework help, preparing dinner, and keeping the evening relaxed until handover at 7pm.
No driving needed — just confident getting around with the kids on public transport.
We'll also sometimes need:
Occasional Fridays
Extra hours during school holidays
Some full days over the summer
Always arranged with notice, and paid accordingly.
What we're looking for:
Experienced with school-age children
Reliable and punctual
Confident preparing a proper dinner
Comfortable travelling with children on buses
Enhanced DBS check (or willing to obtain one)
