About Me
Hello and welcome!
My name is Carla. I am an Ofsted-registered Childminder, former Early Years Teacher and proud mum to my little boy, Roman. I hold a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and have over 17 years of experience working with children across childminding, nursery and school-based Early Years settings.
I provide childcare from a dedicated, purpose-built Early Years setting in Thornton Heath. I believe one of the greatest benefits of childminding is being able to offer children the warmth and familiarity of a home-from-home environment while still providing the learning opportunities, experiences and professional Early Years practice you would expect from a high-quality setting.
I deliberately value a small-group approach, allowing me to really get to know each child, understand their personality, interests and individual needs, and give them the attention and encouragement they need to feel secure, confident and happy.
My playroom has been thoughtfully designed to encourage independence, curiosity and learning through play. Children have access to a wide variety of age-appropriate resources, creative activities, books, sensory experiences, role play and opportunities to explore the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in a natural and enjoyable way.
I am also a huge believer that children's learning should extend beyond the playroom. We regularly enjoy outings to local parks, libraries, rhyme-time sessions, children's centres, museums, farms and community activities. These experiences give children opportunities to explore the world around them, build confidence, develop communication and social skills and, most importantly, have fun.
I have extensive experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, as well as children who are bilingual or learning English as an additional language. I understand that every child develops differently, and I work closely with parents to identify individual needs, celebrate progress and create appropriate next steps.
Becoming a mum myself has also given me an even deeper appreciation of how important choosing childcare is. I understand that parents are not simply looking for someone to supervise their child — they are trusting someone with the person who means the most to them. I therefore place great importance on building strong, honest relationships with families and maintaining regular communication about children's routines, experiences, development and achievements.
Alongside my degree and professional Early Years experience, I regularly update my training in areas including Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, SEND and Early Years practice, ensuring that my knowledge remains current and that children receive a high standard of care.
I currently offer term-time childcare Monday to Thursday, including funded childcare for eligible children from 9 months old. Tax-Free Childcare is also accepted.

My Experience
I hold a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and have over 17 years of experience working with children across childminding, nursery and school-based Early Years settings.
Throughout my career, I have progressed from Nursery Nurse to Room Leader, Deputy Manager and Early Years Teacher before becoming an Ofsted-registered Childminder. This varied experience has given me a strong understanding of child development, the EYFS and how to support children at different ages and stages.
I also have extensive experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, as well as children who are bilingual or learning English as an additional language. I work closely with parents and, where appropriate, other professionals to ensure children receive consistent, individualised support.
I regularly update my professional knowledge through ongoing training and continuous professional development, including Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, SEND and wider Early Years practice. I am committed to keeping my knowledge current and ensuring my practice reflects current legislation, guidance and best practice.

I provide term time care
My Fees
- Childminding from £9.50 per hour
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
£95 per full day (7:30am–5:30pm).
Marcy’s Tot’s operates a session/day-based fee structure rather than hourly bookings.
Additional hours outside contracted hours are charged at £12.50 per hour.
Funded childcare is available for eligible children from 9 months, and Tax-Free Childcare is accepted.

My son attended Marcy Tots in 2024 and I will always be grateful to Carla for the care given to him. Carla is incredibly caring, attentive and genuinely invested in the children. She communicates so well with parents and always made me feel reassured that my son was happy, safe and well looked after.
They provided thoughtful activities, trips and themed days which were all lovely touches and my son absolutely thrived in their care.
I couldn’t recommend Carla, Marcy tots enough. They provide such a warm, caring and nurturing environment and I will always be grateful for everything they did for my son.

Carla and Marcy are absolutely amazing! They’ve looked after my boy since he was just nine months old, and it’s been lovely to see how much he’s grown and progressed in their care. He’s doing so well, and I’m so grateful for the part they’ve played in that.
They’re both so loving, kind and caring, and it’s clear how much they care about the children they look after. My mind is always at ease when he’s with them because I know he’s happy, safe and cared for. As a mum, that means everything. I couldn’t recommend Carla and Marcy enough!

This is no exaggeration when I say MT is honestly the best childminders!
My daughter absolutely thrived during her time there. The love, care and attention she received was incredible, and I could genuinely see how much she grew in confidence, independence and development.
As a parent, there is nothing better than knowing your child is somewhere they are safe, happy, loved and genuinely cared for, and that is exactly how I felt with MT. My daughter loved going and built such a lovely bond with them.
I will always be grateful for the part they played in her early years and I honestly couldn’t recommend MT highly enough

My DS loves coming everyday. He enjoys playing, learning and spending time with his friends. He is so happy when I drop him off and collect him and I feel totally at ease when I leave him. Amazing setting and fabulous routine for my son. He loves doing rhyme time everyday with his friends and comes home singing. I have no complaints with this setting and my son is loved and well looked after. If I do have another child I would definitely be using them again. All smiles from my side xx
