About Me
Hi, my name is Jo. I am a mother to three boys aged between 24 and 7. I offer a warm and inviting home for all children. The whole downstairs of my home (apart from kitchen) is dedicated to my minded children. We have a cosy corner under the stairs for quiet time and reading when the children need it. My living room is set up with several activity areas and is where we eat our lunch and have nap time for the children who nap. This follows out to my garden which has a full canopy for shade and rain so can be used whatever the weather. The garden has lots of different areas including sand and water play, mud garden, play house, climbing frame etc. At the end of the garden I have an out building that is fully carpeted and double glazed with underfloor heating that also has lots of different areas dedicated to different activities. My aim is to give children in my care the home from home experience with individual educational, personal, emotional and physical support they need. I book and plan various activities, including local stay and plays, farm, soft play, library, park etc in advance.
I have experience of looking after children with special needs including autism, epilepsy and type 1 diabetes.
I have cared for children that have come to me as early as 5 weeks and have stayed with me until nursery. I am happy to use breast milk when provided.
I understand it is a difficult process leaving your child with somebody else, so together we will do our best to make it as smooth as possible for both you and your child.
My hourly rate is £9.50 per hour which includes all meals and snacks which are home cooked and healthy, (unless special requirements) nappies, wipes and all activities. I do offer weekly and daily rates also.
Please note: I do have a dog. He is mostly out with either the dog walker or my partner during the days, but when he is home, he is kept in his own secure area of the garden.

I have looked after many children over the years, including my own.
My Qualifications
I have completed my childminding course and am OFSTED inspected and registered. I have a level 3 certificate in paediatric first aid and am DBS certified. I am also Green rated from Islington council.

I currently have 2 full or part-time spaces available from 8am -6pm

My son loved going to ‘Nanny Jo’. It was a home away from home and it felt like he was part of the family.
Jo was very caring and always happy and enthusiastic looking after my son. He had good meals and really enjoyed playing in the garden every day. It was a very loving environment and I would definitely recommend.

My Daughter goes to Jo full time as I have gone back into full time work and I cannot stress enough how much at ease Jo has made me feel. My daughter is currently 18 months old and she runs into Jo’s arms every morning and is so happy at pick up. Safeguarding is a top priority, The setting is child friendly, my daughter’s development has blossomed in all areas, and communication is at 100%. Jo is attentive, calming and creates such a happy environment for the children.

As a new parent it was incredibly daunting trying to find suitable childcare for my son, and I was a bag of nerves initially but I have been able to fully put my trust in Jo who has proven to be an excellent childminder. Since my 10 month old has been with Jo he is the happiest he has ever been. Jo clearly loves her job and will do anything for the children under her care. She has created a fun, supportive, engaging and loving environment for these little ones and my son comes home beaming every day. Her communication is great and she is willing to go above and beyond to support us as parents too. Would highly recommend.
