About Me
I have extensive experience working with children with autism, ADHD, PDA, ODD, and other behavioural needs, as well as dyslexia and SEMH needs.
I'm a fun-loving, outgoing tutor with experience working with children and young people. I take pride in being punctual and maintaining a high standard of work. I enjoy working with students of all abilities, with a calm and compassionate manner. I empathise greatly with students who find mainstream schooling difficult, and would love to be a part of helping your family to thrive in a home-school/tutoring environment.
All lessons will be tailored to the invidual's need and area in which they wish to develop.
My Experience
During my career, I worked at a specialist school for children with autism, as well as in mainstream school settings, supporting children with additional needs.
I have worked within Primary Education for over a decade, running groups and one-to-one sessions for children who need an extra boost in phonics, reading, maths and writing skills.
I design my sessions to work with the individual, embracing their interests and providing engaging activities to support their learning. I love seeing my students growing in confidence as they gain skills and overcome difficulties.
I have worked with individuals, groups and families to ensure that children who require additional support to access learning are given with the right support.
I have experience teaching in the following areas of EYFS, Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 curriculum:
- All stages of phonics
- Reading, including comprehension up to Year 6
- Writing up to Year 6
- Maths up to Year 6
