Hi, we're the Barlows!
I'm Sam (mum), my husband is Chris (dad), and we live with our 2 daughters, aged 7 and 4, and 2 affectionate (and slightly bonkers) siamese cats in Basford, Newcastle under Lyme. Our girls are happy, sociable and full of energy! Entertainers at heart, they love music, dancing, gymnastics, books, and most of all, dressing up and role play.
We're a very loving and welcoming family, with a challenging blend of ASD, ADHD, and other neurodivergent conditions. Chris is a freelance embedded software engineer, and together we run his consultancy business. We are super lucky to get to work on a diverse range of exciting projects - there's rarely a dull day!
As a former teacher, I love to be creative and am extremely passionate about education. My parenting style has been heavily influenced by time spent living, working, and teaching in Finland. We really value a progressive approach to family life, though we often experience challenges with routine and emotional regulation.
My Requirements
We're looking for a part time nanny who can help with:
- morning routine, school runs and some school pick ups;
- shopping, meal planning and meal prep;
- after school help with homework, reading, etc.
We'd like someone who has SEND experience, and is mindful of how it impacts daily life.
