About Me

I am an Ofsted registered nanny (NVQ level 3) and have been working in childcare since 1991.

It has been incredibly rewarding to watch the children I’ve cared for grow from babies into happy, confident young adults achieving to the best of their abilities.

I have an up to date DBS and am registered on their update service.

I have been with my current family since 2012. I work two days a week - Wednesday and Thursday. During term time I work before and after school, and 10 full days during the school holidays.
The children are now 18, 15 and 10. Their youngest will be going to Secondary school in September and I will continue to work for them two afternoons a week.

Working in partnership with parents has given me many skills, including the ability to work both independently and alongside other people, and I feel that I communicate well with both adults and children. Working with small children requires empathy, patience and compassion all of which are excellent transferable skills.
I am responsible for activities and outings which have given me the skills to be creative and use my own initiative. I like to be organised and enjoy planning activities for the children.
In previous jobs I have also been responsible for the children's laundry and cleaning of their bedrooms.

During my childcare career I spent some time childminding from home which allowed me the flexibility to be at home with my own children . Childminding requires you to register with Ofsted and to adhere to their guidelines. This involved attending regular courses, including paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene.

My own children are now 26 and 20. My son has recently moved into his own home and my daughter is at University.

In my free time I enjoy meeting friends, walking and being outside. Favourite places include Windsor Great Park and National Trust properties. When at home I enjoy relaxing with a good book, baking or spending time in the garden.
