About Me
Hello, my name is Alina and I am 28 years old. I am looking to tutor Maths at 11+ level or 11-16. I worked at a primary school for 3 years and am now a Maths secondary school teacher so have very good knowledge of both primary and secondary curriculums as well as the structure of exams and access to various academic resources. I am very aware that every child learns differently and believe that “not being a maths person” is a myth - it just needs to be explained in a way that is accessible to the individual. I’m extremely patient, friendly and determined as well as having high expectations of myself. I love to teach and love engaging students in a non-pressure environment where they feel safe to make mistakes, and believe this creates a place where they can learn.
My Experience
I have spent 7 years working in nurseries, 3 in primary and a year in secondary. Throughout I have helped my younger sisters with their maths as I did A-Level maths myself and got an A. I’ve always loved maths and am enjoying teaching it at secondary level. I also helped to prepare students in year 6 for 11+ which included holding intervention groups of 6-10 students who were working towards their SATs who experienced various situational factors which caused gaps in knowledge. I really enjoy what I do and my students always feel comfortable in the learning environment I create. In my career I have worked with a lot of students and supported a variety of needs so feel very comfortable with this - again, I believe that every student can access the learning when taught in the right way.
My Qualifications
I have 7 years experience working in pre-school settings, 3 in a primary school setting and 1 in a secondary school.
My Availability
I'll be available to start immediately.

- Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
- Tutoring from £40.00 per hour
