About Me

A warm, nurturing and inspiring home-from-home where children feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

Hello, I’m Camila, a registered childminder and proud mum to my wonderful young daughter. Originally from Colombia, I have lived in the UK for over 20 years and bring a warm, caring and multicultural approach to early years childcare.

Becoming a mother strengthened my passion for working with young children and inspired me to turn that passion into my career. I have always enjoyed caring for and supporting children and have previous experience working as an au pair, babysitter and Spanish tutor, and before becoming independant childminder was working as a cochildminder with a very experienced childminder as well as many years of professional experience in retail.

My approach

I believe that the early years are a very special time in a child's life. Children learn best when they feel safe, secure, loved and encouraged to explore.

My aim is to provide a welcoming, home-based environment where children can develop confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning. I plan a variety of engaging, age-appropriate activities based on each child's individual interests, needs and stage of development.

Through play, exploration and everyday experiences, I support children's development.

Every child is unique, and I take the time to get to know each child as an individual. I want them to feel that my setting is their home away from home — somewhere they can be themselves, have fun, build friendships and develop at their own pace.

Bilingual learning

As a fluent English and Spanish speaker, I am delighted to bring Spanish language and culture into everyday experiences.

Children can enjoy Spanish through songs, stories, rhymes, games and play, allowing them to experience another language naturally and positively. Whether a child already speaks Spanish or is hearing it for the first time, my aim is to make language learning enjoyable and meaningful.

A partnership with parents

I understand that choosing childcare is a very important decision. Leaving your child with someone else requires trust, confidence and peace of mind.

I value open and honest communication with parents and believe that the best outcomes for children come from working closely together. I want parents to feel comfortable sharing their child's routines, interests, achievements and individual needs with me.

I will keep you involved in your child's experiences and development and make sure you feel welcomed, listened to and informed.
