Bryony
Babysitter in Hove
My Summary
About Me
I am an enthusiastic and reliable 22 year old.
I have recently just graduated from university and I am now a fully qualified primary school teacher. I have decided not to go straight into teaching and instead I am a Teaching Assistant at a school in Hove for the time being. This means that I have my evenings and weekends available.
I have a strong passion and desire to teach and support children to fulfil their maximum potential and prepare them for the future whilst encouraging them to be creative, curious and independent. During my teacher training, I built amazing relationships with the children and their parents and I believe that it is so important so ideally I would like to work with a family as a long term arrangement to build up that bond and I also find it hard to say goodbye to a child you built a good secure bond with.
Going into a career working with children, I enjoy all activities - arts and crafts, singing and dancing (I am very bad though!), reading stories and outdoor activities. I also enjoy watching films (especially Disney) and walking my dogs - I have 3!
I have a driving license and a car so I would be more than happy to take your child on days out to the farm, indoor soft play, parks, beach, library etc (only if you were happy and comfortable for me to!)
My Experience
During my GCSE Health and Social Care Course, I did a 5-day placement in a nursery where I helped the children with their tasks and activities such as reading, art and crafts, playing, eating, putting them to sleep etc.
I was also a regular babysitter (for a family friend) for an 8-year old with autism. This has helped me understand how every child is different, and how some may struggle in certain situations so they must be dealt with appropriately.
Alongside the babysitting, I also picked up another 8-year old from school for 7 months every Monday and Tuesday. I’d keep him occupied by activities such as drawing, going to the park, and occasionally do reading, homework and his dinner.
I then did 3 placements during university. I did in placement in Year 1 (children were aged 5-6 years old), a placement in Year 3 (children were aged 7-8 years old) and a placement in Year 6 (children were aged 10-11 years old) so I have experience with a range of different ages.
My partner also has a younger sister who is now 2 and a half years old who I adore and get on well with so I have experience of the younger age as well.
