About Me

Hi I am Caroline
I have a genuine passion and enthusiasm to help look after children of all abilities. I have a warm, sensitive and empathetic nature and I am very focused at working at every child's level and always aim to create an environment that is fun, caring and stimulating.
I have had training in Children's Care, Learning and Development, Health+Safety, First Aid, Food and Hygiene, Child Protection, GIRFEC, Paediatric Immediate Life Support, Eco-Schools, Forest/Outdoor Schools, Health&Wellbeing.
I enjoy Zumba, dancing, running, arts/craft, nature, hill walking and being outdoors in all weathers!

My Experience

I have been working in the Nursing Dept of a Healthcare Clinic for the past 5 years. Previously I worked for 6 years as a Pre-School Early Years Practitioner. I was involved in all aspects of children’s care and learning on a daily basis (0-5 years). I am very aware of a child centred and holisitic approach to learning and have worked with both the Pre-Birth to Three Curriculum and Curriculum for Excellence. I have also worked for a Childcare Agency where I worked as a Nanny, Babysitter and in Children’s Creche and After School Clubs throughout Edinburgh. Prior to this I worked for 13 years in NHS Hospital Labs/Medical Outpatients including Paediatric Audiology.

I also have a lot of experience working with children who require additional support. This includes children on the Autistic Spectrum and children with Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, Speech and Language difficulties. I developed excellent relationships with both the children and their parents and can provide parent testimonials.
