My name is Eleanor, or Nora, I’m 29, originally from Yorkshire.
I love languages and music. I speak fluent Mandarin Chinese and play the piano and the guitar.
I believe children should be given a free space to play and explore whatever they are drawn to, and their care should be tailored to their individual needs and interests.
My Experience
I have over 12 years experience working with children. For the past 6 years I’ve been looking after two boys, who were 9 & 13 at the start. Previously I was a nanny/housekeeper for a family of 5 children under 8. The youngest being a newborn.
This included helping with their homeschooling as well as meal prep/bath time and general playing.
Previous to this job I worked for 4 years in the school/nursery system as a support worker and translator for young Chinese children and support worker for asylum-seekers children.
My Qualifications
I have no specific childcare qualifications just lots and lots of experience! I have a full UK driving licence and my own car, so able to drive little ones around.
I have a GCSE A* in Mandarin, a level 2 counselling skills qualification and an NVQ level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery - a bizarre mix of skills but I think it helps when teaching children about all sorts of subjects and when helping them develop their own skills.
I would be willing to get a DBS and/or first aid if you require it!
