About Me
Hi, I am a German native, married and have an 12 year old son.
I am an active person, enjoying the great outdoors in all seasons, and in all weather - all you need is the right clothing :)
I enjoy a nice long country walk with my family and friends and our 6 year old dog. Football, cycling and skiing are also family favourites and so are theme parks and the cinema.
I enjoy eating healthy food and most of the food I cook is from scratch.
Baking is something I also enjoy, although nothing as fancy as the contestant from the GBBO!
My Experience
I have been working with children since I first came to London in 2001, so that is now 22 years.
I have been working within various family set- ups and different ages from 1-14years old.
Whilst I was working as a Weekend Nanny I volunteered at a Primary school as a Teaching Assistant. This has given me an insight not only how the schools work but also how to apply different teaching techniques so to help each and every child individually and to their specific needs.
Whilst working in a Montessori Nursery I was so blown away by the children independent and their eagerness to learn by implementing the Montessori approach, that I studied the Early Years In Montessori. This has helped me with my own son but also with the children I cared for, making them more independent and giving them a feeling of confidence to have a go at things.
In recent years I have been working in a nursery setting in Haywards Heath on a part-time and term-time basis, helping the children gain confidence and settling into the nursery life, with lots of cuddles and hugs.
For the last 8 years now I have been working on a part-time basis with a great family in Redhill, looking after their 9 year old and 6 year old daughters together with my son. We enjoyed lots of fun days at Legoland and Chessington, farms, beaches and playgrounds as well as baking and doing arty-crafty. This has unfortunately come to an end now, hence the search for the right family again.
