About Me
We are a friendly family based in Marylebone with two boys (a 9 yrs old and a 5 year old) looking for a full time nanny (after-school in term time, full days in the holidays).
My Requirements
We're a warm, hands-on family in Marylebone looking for a warm and capable nanny to join us from September, to look after our two boys and take a genuine lead on the eldest's schoolwork. It's a lovely, child-centred role with variety across the year.
The boys: The eldest is 9 and going into Year 5, so heading into his 11-plus year. He's bright and good at maths, and it's his English and writing where he needs a confident, encouraging hand. The youngest is 4, turning 5, and just starting Reception. Both are at the same school in Notting Hill, a short drive from home (we will provide a car to use).
The role:
Term time: afternoons only. School pickup at around 3:30 through to 7:00, Monday to Friday. This covers the school run, after-school activities and clubs, homework, and getting the boys fed and into their evening routine. If you're able to help with some morning drop-offs too, that's a lovely bonus but not essential. On three days a week, there's also some cooking and meal prep for the boys, which can be done before pickup.
School holidays: full days, 9:00 to 5:00. This is the more active, adventurous side of the role: days out, museums, soft play, the park, arts and crafts.
We have a housekeeper three days a week, no cleaning is required.
What we're looking for:
- Someone who can support and steer the eldest: keeping homework standards up, making sure he isn't rushing it, and working through English and verbal reasoning with patience and encouragement. Experience of the 11-plus is a real plus.
- Someone genuinely up for running around, getting outdoors, and making things fun for a lively 4 and 9-year-old, not just calm and nurturing. A teaching or teaching-adjacent background tends to suit us well when it comes with that warmth.
- Comfortable in sole charge and good at filling a day with things to do so the boys are engaged rather than bored.
- A driver. We provide a car for pickups and activities.
Practical details:
- Five days a week, Monday to Friday, on the pattern above.
- Car provided for all childcare driving.
- Start date from September. The boys go back to school in early September.
- Salary competitive and dependent on experience (£20–25 per hour).
To apply: Please tell us briefly about your experience supporting a school-age child with homework or exam prep, whether you drive, and your earliest start date from September.
