About Me
We are a friendly and easygoing family with two children aged 6 and 9 needing after school care.
My Requirements
Our wonderful nanny is going to move far away and we are looking for a kind, responsible and fun nanny to join our family from February 2026.
This would ideally involve morning and after school shifts, but if only afternoons are possible, we can definitely make it work.
The ideal would be 4 days a week Monday - Thursday but we can consider 2-3 days also.
- afternoons would involve picking up the children either at 3.20pm or 4.25 pm and looking after them until 6pm, including taking them to activities. For this reason, a driver is preferred as some are not walkable, but we can try to work this out if you are a non-driver but otherwise perfect!
- if you could offer mornings then this would involve arriving to our house around 8am and getting the children to school (15-20 mins walk) for 8.40am.
- ideally a nanny would be able to add some hours of kids’ housekeeping eg laundry and meal prep - either after drop off in the morning or before pickup in the afternoon but again this is negotiable.
We would ideally like a nanny to be able to offer full days in the holidays if possible.
Our children are at Christ Church School in Surbiton.
We have always been lucky enough to have long term nannies who become part of the family and would love to find someone looking for a long term role (at least one year but preferably several!).
If you think this role could suit you, do get in touch and we can chat.

Reviews I've Written

I struggled with whether to write this. I prefer to be kind. But. I don’t want her to dupe someone else. That’s a higher kindness, I feel.
I’d love to leave a great review for Leilani.
However, I’m unable to.
*Please note she is not a nanny and does not have nannying experience.*
We have had two long term, much loved nannies and two ad hoc nannies with no problem at all. Our role is very standard and we are very laid back. We even have glowing references from our old nannies, with whom we are in regular contact. This was the kind of relationship we wanted to forge with Leilani.
Leilani wasn’t our first choice but convinced us she would be the right fit for our family. We gave her the benefit of the doubt, even moving certain things around (eg start date, preference for a driver) based on her requirements. She met our children for a trial and said she had no concerns and that she was certain the role would suit her very well.
I still had some reservations. Her ‘nannying’ referees made it clear it wasn’t nannying but more casual babysitting for family friends. Still, she seemed to like the kids a lot and was confident; so what’s a bit of CV embellishment between friends?
We were excited for her to start. We planned a very gentle start for her, taking more responsibility over a few weeks, as I was still home on mat leave. Her first day she did one school run on foot and spent a lot of time complaining how far away school was (15 minutes walk with dawdling children). Then we discussed all routines etc in detail and showers her where everything was. She also looked after one 9 month old for about two hours while I picked up my older two from school and took them swimming.
The second day she arrived back from the school run looking red in the face and short of breath.
She then *texted me* while I was upstairs putting the baby to bed and lied that she had a big and had to go home immediately. I rushed down, offering her a lift home, asking if everything was ok.
I told her I hope she felt better soon and to let me know if she wanted to chat. She then texted saying nannying wasn’t for her and she wasn’t returning. No regard for the position this places a busy working family in.
Yet here she is again.
Sadly I don’t think a nanny job is for her.
