Part Time Nanny Job in Cardiff
About Me
I’m looking for after-school care either at my home or at your home (if you can collect my daughter from her school or my house). I need two days a week, 3-6pm.
My Requirements
I would ideally like someone who is registered as a child-minder or has experience as a nanny.
My daughter is called Bella. Bella attends a special school. She has a rare chromosome difference which means she’s delayed in all areas and is more like a 6/7 year old year old. Bella is fit and well and doesn’t have any medical issues which you’d need to deal with: she is just mentally younger than her actual age.
Bella is pretty easy to look after as she likes her routine. After school, she has a snack and then watches TV or sometimes uses FaceTime on her iPad to play Roblox with her Dad. She then has her tea/dinner around 4pm or 5pm, depending on how hungry she is. If not watching TV, she likes to play games. Special needs experience is not essential as Bella’s needs are not complex. You just need to treat her like a younger child and be patient with her.
Bella's favourite food is pasta, grated cheese and chopped tomatoes but she’ll eat pretty much anything. She loves watching CBeebies or Netflix for kids. She loves games and imaginary play and she gravitates towards children who are much younger than she is, for obvious reasons.
I am looking for someone who can either;
a) be at my home and receive Bella from her school transport (3pm in Penylan) or
b) collect Bella from school (2.40pm in Ely) and bring her home (6pm, Penylan)
I need after-school care two days a week, term-time only. I am flexible on days. I am happy to pay a retainer during school holidays if that helps.
Please do get in touch if you feel you can help.

Jamie currently looks after my fifteen year old daughter (who is more like a 6/7 year old and attends a special school), for two after-school sessions a week. For the first time in years, I have peace and can stay at the office til 5pm, knowing my daughter is in the best of hands. This is priceless, as you will know. I liked Jamie as soon as I met her but the acid test was my daughter. My daughter came and sat near Jamie and largely ignored her, but Jamie asked her the right questions and just said the right things. My daughter turned to me after five minutes and said “I like her” and I immediately knew Jamie was right for us. I would recommend Jamie to anyone, she’s just lovely. She’s also extremely well-qualified (if that matters to you).
