About Me

With 15 years experience as a qualified (now retired) midwife, four children of my own, four grandchildren, and six years as a maternity nurse/newborn care specialist, I have developed a very real passion for working alongside families as they welcome new babies into their lives. As an evidence based practitioner I bring current research into my practice and help parents to make appropriate choices for them as a family, guiding them through the mountainous levels of advice, in a friendly and nurturing way. My experience and qualifications enable me to offer family centred support on all postnatal issues in a gentle and bespoke way, very much led by the new mother and baby to help get parenting of to a good start. With UNICEF 'baby friendly' training and lots of postnatal experience I am well placed to support a mother's choice with feeding, whether that be breast, formula or mixed feeding. In addition, I have specialist skills in supporting families who have experienced traumatic birth and am also an EMCC accredited coach practitioner offering both maternity and parental coaching services. As a professional friend to the families in my care I find it both a joy and a privilege to be a part of their journey during this very special time in their lives.
