My Summary
About Me
Hello Parents,
My name is Cheyenne Richards, and I am a caring, reliable, and experienced childcare provider based in South East London. I currently work within primary education as a Learning Support Assistant supporting children with additional needs, alongside offering babysitting, nannying, and household support.
I am also a devoted mother to my 8-year-old daughter, which has given me valuable hands-on experience from newborn stage through to school age. Through both motherhood and my professional experience working with children, I have developed patience, understanding, empathy, and the ability to create a calm and nurturing environment.
I believe building trust and strong bonds with children is extremely important so they feel safe, comfortable, and happy in my care. I enjoy creating an environment where children can learn, play, and express themselves confidently. I also believe learning can be naturally incorporated into play and everyday activities, helping support a child’s confidence and development in a fun and engaging way.
I have experience supporting children with:
• Homework and reading
• School routines and bedtime routines
• Emotional regulation and behaviour support
• Creative play and activities
• Meal preparation
• Outdoor activities and outings
• Supporting children with additional needs
I am happy to assist with household help alongside childcare, including:
• Preparing fresh meals
• Tidying children’s areas
• Laundry and organisation
• School pick-ups/drop-offs
• Light household duties to help busy families
I can cook a variety of fresh meals, including child-friendly dinners as well as more mature meals for adults. I am adaptable to different dietary preferences and enjoy preparing healthy, home-cooked food.
I am a non-smoker and non-drinker, and I take pride in being organised, clean, trustworthy, and dependable. Self-care, hygiene, and maintaining a safe environment are very important to me.
I am also comfortable around pets, having previously cared for dogs, cats, and rabbits, so I am happy to work in family homes with animals.
I understand how important it is for parents to feel reassured when leaving their children in someone else’s care, and I always aim to provide a safe, supportive, loving, and dependable presence for both children and parents alike.
My Experience
I have several years of childcare experience working within both private family homes and educational settings. My experience includes two long-term nannying roles, ad hoc babysitting, travel nannying, and my current role working within schools as a Learning Support Assistant. I have cared for children ranging from newborns and toddlers through to older primary school-aged children, including caring for multiple children at once in busy family households.
In my previous nannying roles, I supported families with all aspects of childcare including school runs, bedtime routines, meal preparation, homework support, organising activities and outings, emotional support, and maintaining daily routines. One of my roles involved caring for a family of seven with children ranging from 18-month-old twins to 8-year-old boys, where I managed both childcare and household responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. I also have experience accompanying families while travelling and adapting to different routines and schedules while ensuring children remained safe, happy, and settled.
Alongside childcare, I am confident supporting with light household duties such as children’s laundry, tidying play areas, preparing fresh meals, and helping maintain an organised home environment for busy parents.
My current experience working within education has further strengthened my understanding of child development, safeguarding, emotional regulation, patience, and supporting children with additional needs. I pride myself on creating warm, trusting relationships with children and providing a safe, nurturing, and dependable environment where they feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
