Less Childminder more like Family!

Lisa and Lewis were our DDs second childminder as she failed to settle in the first setting. DD was born during lockdown and didn't get to interact with other babies until she was 5 months old, she started at Lisa and Lewis at 11 months old. They were amazingly patient with getting her to settle. From the little touches of getting me to wear a scarf and then Lisa wearing the same scarf while they were looking after her, to ensuring her naps were as close as possible to those we had at home in the dark in a quiet room with white noise and in a travel cot.

During this time Lisa was fantastic with updates as I was super nervous at leaving her. I needn't have worried as soon DD was loving it! I think DD really thrived on the home from home setting Lisa and Lewis have built, which encompasses their own children. Lisa and Lewis's children are also key to this setting, they are always polite with amazing manners, they are all great with the children. My DD still considers them family and they became like siblings to her.

Lisa and Lewis love messy play, going to the parks which surround their home, playgroups and occasional days out to the aquarium and trampoline park. Its clear Lisa and Lewis take great pride in the care they take for all their children - going above and beyond what I would expect, with little personalised touches for birthdays and other special occasions.

Updates were always thorough but not overbearing and I always enjoyed our daily photos which were so reassuring.

Lisa and Lewis also made the effort to complete a form we needed for our DDs ASD referral and we have been so grateful for their support. I love the fact Lisa, Lewis and all their children are now like family to us. If you are looking for a personal, family focused setting then I would seriously suggest speaking to them. I am so glad our DD spent 2.5 years with them and I couldn't have asked for a better start on her childcare journey.

Great childminder

Our boy had just turned one when he started with Lisa. Between quite a bit of his life being in lockdown and us recently having moved here, he basically just knew my husband and I, so understandably a bit clingy. Lisa was great with settling him and he took less than a week going 3 days per week until he was fine being dropped off, happy and chatty/babbling there and coming home not being overly clingy.
Tagteam / Lisa are really fantastic with providing lots of different kinds of entertainment, especially messy play, which I hugely appreciate as we are in a small rented place and can't do here. Also, they are good with working on whatever development is happening, like encouraging animal noises he is doing atm or right now we are practicing using a spoon, which Lisa is happy to do at our pace and accommodates baby-led, spoon or a mix like us. There is also outside time almost every day (unless the weather is really bad) at a variety of locations. Communication is fantastic with enough during the day to keep me (a slightly anxious first time mum) happy but not so much it is overwhelming, and a quick chats/emails/messaging at other times to touch base on whatever issues arise. My boy seems happy, engaged and playful and comes home really settled at the end of the day. I feel he is also getting good socialisation without having to face nursery, where I am pretty sure he would be overwhelmed. I really like that Lisa works with her partner to provide a nice environment and you can tell they are passionate about their work. Finally, she is amazing with being accommodating and flexible when unexpected things crop up - like having to get a Covid test done at the moment. Absolutely happy with my choice and would recommend to others.
