My Summary
About Me
AVAILABLE FOR AD-HOC BABYSITTING AM+PM
Currently looking for ad-hoc babysitting until I start my new nanny position. I am available now until 22nd of Feb.
A bit about me:
I'm a caring, empathetic and nurturing young woman working as a live in nanny in London, currently looking for a live out nanny position.I love looking after people, especially children. I'm very creative and adaptable and love to try and encourage artistry and expression wherever possible whether through music or painting or just making something beautiful. I am from a diverse and mixed culture background so I find it very easy to connect to a wide range of people from various backgrounds and cultures. I speak Spanish moderately well as I am half South American and would be happy to share this with the children I'm looking after as children find it easiest to pick up languages when they're young. I love cooking and healthy food, travelling, making art, music, nature and mindfulness.
My Experience
I have just finished a position as a live in nanny looking after 3 lovely children who are 2,5 and 9 years old so I have experience with looking after children, making nutritious meals, planning fun activities and multitasking.
My previous role consisted of:
•Making sure all 3 children are fed and ready for school and nursery.
• The school run- picking up and dropping off.
• Picking up the youngest from nursery, feeding him lunch, keeping him happy ( we love to sing and dance together) whilst maintaining his nap schedule as well as his toilet routine- I have managed to successfully help potty train him.
• Keeping on top of light household duties such as kids laundry, tidying toys, loading dishwasher, hoovering etc...
• Preparing nutritious, filling and varied meals! One of my favourite parts of the job as I love cooking !:) ( I’m very happy to provide weekly meal plans ahead of each week)
• Organising fun, engaging activities both in and out of the home such as arts and crafts or play dates with the children’s local school friends/ other nannies.
• Taking the children to extracurricular activities and clubs.
• Helping the children with homework.
• Supporting the children to explore imaginative and creative play.
• Encouraging healthy and positive communication with each other and with me i.e articulating emotions/feelings , simple manners and kindness towards each other as I believe these are really important.
• Maintaining a warm, open and happy environment for the kids and myself so we can enjoy everyday!
• Most importantly- making sure the children felt happy, healthy and supported.
Thankfully this role came naturally to me as I've spent my whole life around younger children. I have two very vivacious, funny( and sometimes naughty!) younger brothers I have helped with since they were born, they are now 8 and 10 as well as a big family with lots of little cousins. I have a lot experience babysitting for friends and family. From newborn to young teens.
Last year I spent 2 months volunteering at a school and orphanage in rural Cambodia teaching disadvantaged children as young as 3 up to 15 English -planning exciting and engaging activities and lessons for them on a daily basis. I absolutely loved it! I worked closely with one of children who had severe cerebral palsy and was immobile so I have some experience and am comfortable working with special needs.
I also spent a season working at Legoland in the entertainment department, overseeing activities and interactions with the costume characters. This involved working with a range of ages from as young as toddlers up to secondary school years.
Before my previous position as a nanny I was working with vulnerable elderly people with Dementia and Alzheimer's as an Activities Coordinator, constructing monthly activity timetables, planning excursions and daily stimulating activities for a group of around 30. This is a perfect example of my organisational skills and creative side and ability to connect to people no matter how young or old. Although I loved this job my passion lies with children and babies and I have loved being able to take the adaptable organisational, engagement and care skills that I have learned and transfer them to childcare.
My Qualifications
I have an up to date DBS for my job in a care home. I’m currently working full time with children as a nanny so I am well experienced with sole charge. Also, I am a recently qualified full spectrum doula so have good understanding of newborn babies and new mothers.
